Trying to fix Cyril's soggy carpets - - - & - - - The Brexit crusade continues

LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
The Netweather rain radar display doesn't look as if its got such a big blob of Atlantic rain today, could this indicate a change in the weather soon?  Here's hoping so because the relentless drizzle is getting to be a little tedious now
the local view shows we are coming out of a heavy bit of rain just now with lighter bits lining us up next
A double figure Temp to start the day but once again the Hunidity is way up there making it another wet and sticky day
the weathercam hangs onto its grey mantle and my "seaweed " is showing the rain dripping off the bottom of it.  No need to say the forecasters are confident it will rain most anytime during the course of the day -  - -

With the dull weather still with us i determined yesterday to have a look at the problem of the soggy carpets in Cyril the Corsa Combo van.  Just google anything to do with Corsa wet carpets and there are any number of You tube videos, like this one   from subscribers who will show you how to resolve the problem.  A "professional leak stopper"  can you imagine there are tradesmen who make a living resolving this type of issue! puts up his own video and tells you DIY repairs will not work!
Undaunted I had a go, using one of the "recommended" resolutions and one of my own making.  The problem is the way the water from the roof and windscreen are channelled to the ground.  The water all runs into the engine bay and more significantly, onto the fuze/relay box circled and the brake servo gasket arrowed in the photo.  The fuze relay box cover has a seal and the gasket around the servo are rubbish and break allowing water to pass them and subsequently down into the footwells both sides of the vehicle.  The DIY resolution is to use silicone sealent on both.  I used a mastic weatherseal on the relay box and then resorted to redirecting the water with sheets of old pond liner.  only time will tell if i have been successful.
On completion of the job i decided to check the oil level and noticed something rather odd about the routing of one of the A/C pipes

This photo is off the Internet because i just went outside to take one of Cyril and its Hissing down! The pipe coloured green is an A/C pipe routed behind the dipstick. On Cyril it must have been making getting the dipstick out so it had been routed where the black marks are. The problem was that where the red mark is the pipe is metallic and was rubbing against that box on its left and had been worn away considerably.  Re-routing it i also spotted the item circled in the photo just dangling on a flange, having broken off from the bottom bolted bit of it.  Looking at the photo I'm sure its a plate for hoisting the engine out of the car because there are more visible at the back of this engine photo.  - - - hey ho!

The bird feeder videos are now becoming a regular spot so here are a few more
Here a Collared Dove visits the table feeder.  We have had a pair around in the garden for a number of years now
The Jackdaws are not giving up on the peanut feeder.  This one once again "cocks a snoot2 at the camera during its visit
I spotted this one afew minutes ago.  If you look carefully a Snail has somehow got onto the empty fatball feeder and is climbing its way up the left side of it!
finally this camera looks up the garden.  A spider obscures the view while it spins a web across the front of the camera.  This is a situation I have to deal with almost every day, clearing the webs away but the spiders just never give up - - -

A PEEK A THE PAPER

The Express concentrates on its Leave the EU campaign by highlighting the story about proof that we can't stop migrnats.
A very stark message is on the front of the sun which urges its readers vote to quit eu on June 23 X  The article behind the headline has some interesting facts/quotes in it but for me maybe a rather simplistic approach i know, this quote says it all "This is our chance to make Britain even greater, to recapture our democracy, to preserve the values and culture we are proud of"
