Magpie mine walk yesterday - - - & - - - Downing St in a panic

LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
the Netweather radar rain display shows quite a bit of rain which will slowly make its way across the UK today
locally we look set for some of the rain quite soon
very warm and very humid this morning once again
a great shot from the weathercam with a bank of mist making its way up the valley just now.  The forecast indicates some rain today although the prediction for yesterday was way off the mark with very little until much later than forecast.  Maybe today's suggested Met O "Thunder shower day" between 12:00 and 15:00 will appear, maybe not - - -

We had organised ourselves to do the Magpie Mine walk yesterday
It was very misty as we started out from Sheldon village
the normally long ranged views across the rolling countryside were greatly shortened
as we neared the mine the mist thinned out a bit
its an impressive site and quite a few people visit it with it being along a number of walking routes in the area
on our way back to Sheldon we pass through what can only be described as a "typical old fashioned meadow" clover buttercups and lots of wild flowers lie like a carpet either side of the footpath
We finished off with lunch at the village pub
the Cock and Pullet where the portions are ample enough for anyone! - - -
