LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
The Netweather rain display shows Scotland getting a drenching and the band of rain we had last night
the local view shows the rain that has passed us overnight moving away East.
Another mild start with a double figure Temp, once again the humidity is high after the overnight rain.
the weathercam has its, by now, familiar grey view again this morning.  The Met O Peak District forecast states "the sunshine will be intense between the showers with a risk of sunburn", Metcheck are however not in total agreement but showing the sun symbol behind the rain which they prediuct will be around most of the day

With the rather dull weather continuing and any thoughts of logging not coming to the fore i twisted Sally's arm and we went to The Barrel Inn at Breton for lunch yesterday
the quote that on a clear day you can see five counties didn't apply yesterday but the view was still stupendous
Arriving on the dot of twelve we found a table without a reserved sign on it and enjoyed a great lunch.  The Barrel Pasty, a speciality is cooked while you wait and is delicious

Glad to report that my water ingress repairs to Cyril
appear to have worked.  I parked him with his nose out from underneath the carport in the rain and driving off to lunch yesterday failed to produce the usual "shower"in the passenger side footwell.  During the afternoon i pulled out the carpets and sound deadening material from the footwells in an effort to dry off the previous leaks he has had

When i went up to re-stock the bird feeders yesterday i wondered where the snail i blogged about climbing up the outside of the fatball feeder had gone.  When i pulled down the feeder to put in a fatball i discovered it asleep inside the domed top - - -

A PEEK AT THE PAPER
The Express obviously has a bit of a slack news day with its Viagra story - - - they do give everyone a free £2 bet at Ascot though in the banner headline.  Yesterday while waiting for the rain to stop at Queens Club Tennis we watched a couple of the races.  Everyone was in their finery and dressed to the nines.  The owner of Tepin who won the Queen Anne stakes however either needed a smaller top hat or a larger head because it was only his ears that prevented him from not seeing anything! - - -
The Mail "digs up" then dishes the dirt on Clement Freud this morning with a host of stories about him allegedly being a child abuser.  The proof it says comes out of a TV documentary - - -
