Down to the last bit of tree stump - - - & - - - No Brexit honours as the list favours the "remain'ers"

LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
The country looks like it will be generally having a wet day
while locally just now its not raining the slow moving weather system today is set to dump a fair amount of rain on us
The Temp is a pleasant 15.4c but the humidity will make any activity a little sticky today.
No sign of the hills on the weathercam although earlier the trees in the distance on this shot were hidden.  Rain is forecast all day with the afternoon and evening getting significant amounts

With the overnight rain Thursday i still went to "the Gym" yesterday for a bit of a "workout"
determined to smash the remaining 4 rounds i left the previous day.  It was so hot then i thought an early start might make it a little easier.  Friday, the humidity was way up but the sun wasn't shining because of the cloud as i set to.  Only one of the 4 split easily and it was a case of walking round smashing off chunks then making them small enough to stack.  the knotty bits then were just swan into blocks and thrown into the centre of the pile
I kept glancing at the last bit of trunk and thinking i might leave it for another day.
in the end i cut off the bits that stuck out then sliced it into 2.  This is the knotty middle bit of one which i had again to saw into chunks
the final piece was having none of the splitting game
so i cut it into large chunks where it lay
and thats the stump still in the ground
sawing up the final bit revealed that the fungus had got into it quite badly i just hope it doesn't rot it all before we get to burn it
I left it by the chopping tyre and will give it a go at splitting the various pieces but i suspect it might be a sawing into chunks job in the end.
just the large branches from the tree to saw up now and a couple of smaller trees felled across the stream to go to fill the current stash.  I'll slow it down a bit then and go back onto the Northern side of the knoll to battle with the hawthorn bushes till Autumn. - - -

A PEEK AT THE PAPER

The Brexit campaign slogans even push HM's birthday celebrations off the front page but there's speculation about Camilla's place in the hierarchy with her elevation to the Privy Council  and even Rod Stewert males the honours list.  The Brexit boys are sticking their bottom lips out because the PM has favoured "vote remain" people on his honours list!  The headline of  The migrant crisis will cost us £20bn has a touch of irony to it i fear! - - -  The migrant crisis will cost us many times more than £20bn - - - mark my words - - -

This report indicates the milky way cant be seen  by more than a third of the world due to light pollution.  Its a shame really because its such a spectacular thing to just look up at.  I have seen it a number of times in the middle east and when we were on holiday in the Maldives at Hakuraa we used to lie out on the over water bungalow decking just looking up into the milky way - - -
