At last a sunny start to the day - - - & Boris gets support to be PM

Enjoy the day – Enjoy the weather

LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
Scotland and London look to have a bit of rain but the huge blobs of the last couple of days are absent at the moment - - - locally we are clear of rain clouds ,- - - fingers crossed for today!
 Not quite double figures on the Temp at the moment but it looks promising outside.  Yesterdyas rain is recorded at 10.3mm it just went on and on until around 18:00
the weathercam has a great view just now, nice blue sky for the most part.  Forecasters are indicating the cloud will build as we go through the morning and there's a good chance of some more rain this afternoon

The rain had already begun yesterday but i had earlier planned i would do a few jobs in the garden so out i went
 the laurel hedge that we cut the top off not long ago had a good trim, it was overgrowing the little path between it and the pergola
 I'll leave the other side for a while
 every time i put the food out for the birds at the moment the wet iris's have a go at drenching me so they got the treatment as well
 the miniature Apricot making a bid for freedom in the top greenhouse was trimmed off as well.  Its looking like it might not be a miniature after all
 the garden loves the rain but i'm getting soaked now so its time to pack it in
the fish look to be enjoying themselves though.  The water is now crystal clear at last after many filter foam cleanings and mini barley straw bales - - -

After returning to the dry of the house i later noticed something covering the down garden camera. I thought it was a bird sitting in front of the lens.  It turned out to be the resident spider who resolutely spins its web every time i clear it from the camera - - -

A PEEK AT THE PAPERS
Boris's leadership campaign  to be PM swings into action - - - the article claims he has the backing of more MP's than other front runners

The top half of the Metro has coverage of the match at Wimbledon but I cant find it in their pages, here's what the BBC said about it quite an adventure for Marcus Willis ranked 772 in the world put on a good show after early match nerves - - -

Boris has his new bumper - - - & - - - Mr Farage sticks it to the Brussels mob

==============================================================
Enjoy the day – Enjoy the weather

================================================================
===================================================
LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
The Netweather.TV rain display has a larger blob than yesterday so its looking likely we will be in for some rain later
 Its a double figure Temp right now but earlier it was 9.8 and feeling rather cool.
the sky around 05:00 looked quite promising with a 50% scattered cloud covering.  The Met O forecast looks at rain this morning and some chance of sunshine this afternoon.  Metcheck promote rain, light from now until 09:00 then gradully getting heavier until 18:00 then clearing to give sunny skies until dusk - - - my money is on rain from around midday with only a glimpse of the sun as it leaves the valley
=======================================
Talking about the Sun it has apparently gone blank - - - must say i hadn't noticed
This article in the Metro  reckons we could be headed for a mini ice age as a result.  Something to do with a phenomenon called a solar minimum which will happen in 2019 -2020  - - -

======================

We both set off early yesterday to pick up Boris after his new bumper had been fitted
Steve is a bit of a Land Rover expert and he had been tasked to do the job.  He even resolved an issue we had with a strange bumping noise when going over rough ground.

the old bumper was in a bit of a state
the plastic light surrounds could do with a bit of attention now!

 Sally takes Boris back home while i walk down and tackle the first of the 2 Hawthorn clusters i felled the other day
 its a lengthy porocess but eventually i get down to the last main trunk
 Tadaa! today's exercise is done
a couple more rows on the back wall of the new stash are added
================================
 The other day in the garden we were sitting on the terrace just below the bird feeder.  We had noticed a neighbours cat wandering around, probably drawn by all the action around our bird feeder.
 LM was snoozing in the shade on one of his favourite spots
 he then decides its time for some sun and out of nowhere the neighbours cat, christened spot by us comes and sits on LM's recntly vacated spot
 there was a lot of staring then a bold move by spot
but it was only for show as he slunk off back to the rock
 settling down once again, just to make his point LM starts to ignore him and he leaves
LM wanders over to the rock and checks it for scent then comes over and gives us his "we are not amused"gaze.

A PEEK AT TODAY'S PAPERS

The banners have the woefully pathetic reminder that the England team have been dumped out of the Euro competition by an island with fewer people on it than Chesterfield, and not a single professional football team.  Stock market advice i fear comes a little late the time to strike was the day of the Brexit result but i imagine the city boys are lining up with more "good ideas" for bonuses
the main story is of Farage's blast at the  Brussels mob, that must have been Soooo satisfying for him.  The PM tells them their stand on immigration is to blame for the UK's Brexit.  HM tells a former IRA man she's still alive - - -

The Metro front page has an amusing photo of the Labour Leader, there's something really irritating about a stubborn man topped only by, "A stupid stubborn one" - - - - -
Andrew Castle has a great rant at Junker in this article/video
and some great front page reactions to ~Brexit from around the world

Time to do the "er" walk - - - & - - - Political mugshots on the front pages

==============================================================
Enjoy the day – Enjoy the weather

================================================================
===================================================
LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
Lots of rain on the Netweather display for us later in the day methinks
 A double figure temp and a slight breeze at the moment
The weathercam has a bit of a grey outlook after an earlier blue sky.  Forecasters are looking at the cloud getting heavier and producing rain before mid afternoon

after logging the other day Sally snapped this photo of me slogging it back up the hill to the farm with my current work area to the left of the beige coloured field - - - great training!

On the route back from shopping the other day and driving through Baslow we talked about doing one of our favourite walks.  Yesterday with the sun shining and a gentle breeze we set off
We park at the edge of the village on the West side of the river and the walk starts by threading its way between the houses up this narrow footpath - - - nice honeysuckle
 after a 100m or so we can see the gate to the open fileds
 as soon as we get into the fields the views all around change constantly and get better as you progress - - - Curber edge & Froggatt edge in the distance
 the "er" which can be seen from Chatsworth Hunting Lodge
 Chatsworth off in the distance
 the first 40 mins is all gently rising and the dales looke great as you get higher
 we spot a huge Polyporus Squamosus on a tree by the side of the road.  Unfortunately it might be the tree's demise.  Just under its left edge you can see a green painted spot probably indicating the tree has to come down.
 at the highest point of the walk we turn North and walk through the edge of a wood.  Looking over the wall we see Chatsworth again
 We spot a number of these brown butterfly's and looking in the book when we get back home discover they are "Speckled  Wood's "
 in a break in the wood there is a commemorative bench looking off South West towards Monsal Head.  We decide this will be an ideal place for a picnic! funnily enough yesterday we are so high up (200m) the wind is blowing a gale
 At the end of the forest we hit the single track road on the leeward side of the hill out of the wind.  Here's the view over Bramley Dale once again towards Chatsworth
 Sally gets some shots too
 looking back up up Bramley Dale we can see the "er"
off the hills now and walking along the valley bottom this dappled shaded road is just outside Bubnell'  We notice there are lots of leaves on the ground from the strong winds overnight

just down from the wier is this old house that probably was a mill years ago
just about full circle from the footpath between the houses, this Chatsworth owned house has a lovley old fashioned garden
=========================
back home the Collared Doves dont mind the new position of the feeder tray
neither does this Magpie - - - He still goes after the fatballs! the Jackdaws look to be figuring out how to resolve the new feeders and are conspicuous by their absence at the moment
 we finally admit defeat with the old garden seat we use to sit and watch the fish on
a new one with an aluminium frame is installed and tested in the afternoon sunshine

A PEEK AT THE PAPER

The brexit fallout continues and looks like it will for some time.  Cliff's back at Wimbledon and smiling and England get a kicking from Iceland - - - who?

the front pages are full of the political turmoil at the moment, and its all getting a little tedious so here are some short comments on the three below
Mmmmm, not so sure

Definitely,  never liked him - - - "Never trust a man with a beard", which in light of the "current trend" might sound a little trite so lets change it, "never trust a politician with a beard"

again "Definitely" all this financial storm just lets the city boys earn extra bonus.
