Not much rain on the Netweather.TV display this morning but its headed our way
Double figures once again and a breeze to blow away the early morning mist
The weathercam view shows the mist clearing and the cloud not looking too heavy right now.  Maybe we might get the sunshine a little earlier than forecast

Local weather forecast for today:
The Met O Peak District forecast is for a few light showers this morning before the cloud will break and give some sunny periods this afternoon.  xcweather has a similar forecast but without the rain.  Top Temp should be near the mid teens with around 14 - 15c

We elected to go out to lunch yesterday and for a change decided to try a different location than our usual haunt.  We tried the Eyre Arms at Calver crossroads. Mon to Sun 12:00 to 11:00 it says on the website, it was Tuesday at 12:50 when we arrived - - -  CLOSED!   Nil desperandum we could try the newly renovated Bridge Inn open every day from 12:00 to 15:00 - - - CLOSED! .  Not far away is the Derwent Water Arms open 12:00 every day - - - RESULT! Great food nice cider amusing barmaid - - - recommended !   We had tried The Bridge once before wanting to see their refurb and it was closed i dont think we'll bother again - - -

It was such a nice sunny day although a little chilly but we braved the cold and sat in the garden in the afternoon
early in the morning it had looked like the day might be fine
the mist was clearing from the valley quite quickly
after lunch we sat having a cup of tea and i took a few photos.  This holly was a tiny 2" plant out the front of the house that we transplanted into the back garden.  We have noticed another tiny holly within a metre of this one and have ideas to move that into the front garden - -
The Almond that we moved out of the greenhouse lost all its leaves.  Sally noticed a couple of new leaves on it not long ago and we are hoping next spring that it might come back to life
The Azalea has come on a treat since we moved it from its pot to the garden last winter.  We noticed these strange berry like white growths yesterday.  They are quite hard but appear to have long thin narrow leaves sticking out from them ? - - -
since we fully supported our dwarf apple tree that's done better than ever this year
It has 2 types of apple and the red ones are particularly sweet just now.  We'll leave most of them on or around the base for the birds in winter
Our Bay bush has also had a new lease of life after the mild winter and warm wet spring and summer.  It already has the tiny buds which will be flowers next year
Towards 16:00 the cloud cover returned and we scurried inside to warm up by the log burner.
