There's quite a bit of rain on the display this morning but with the current direction of movement we might get away with missing it for a while today - - -
Another cool Temp start and yesterdays little downpours are reflected in the 4.6mm stat
Weathercam update 07:30
As expected a fairly full sky of cloud on this morning weathercam view, could be a grey day, no rain is forecast

Yesterday i decided to clear out the dead water lily leaves and stems from the pond.  They will rot and lie on the bottom of the pond contributing to the sludge if it doesn't get a trim
i have a piece of wire attached to the basket so its no problem getting it out .  The trimmed stems and leaves can be seen above the plant.  It has a lot of tubers sticking out from the main plant which might just make new plants
i dropped the basket back in the pond and took this shot of it on the bottom hardly realising i would also be shown!
We dont have any pond planter baskets so i'm just putting them back in the pond for the time being with a bit of slate on top to stop them floating around
The one basket of pond plants we left in the shallower end of the pond has done well this year but as soon as the first frost arrives it will be time to clip them right down to water level and add them to the compost bin

Alternative Task Activity (ATA) begins
I had my first short shift of ATA yesterday evening and it went OK.  It took about 40 minutes to get back in the groove and then it was as if i had never been away.  Some colleagues mentioned "The Book" so i must set about organising some advertising material i can put on the notice board !  It Will be a full day of ATA Saturday which will test the resolve a little -  --

Shopper power! allegedly brought Unilever out of its "lest screw the supermarket"dream
This Mail online story  a bullshit story about Brexit £ values from Unilever allegedly sparked their "lets screw the supermarkets" dream.  Social media came into its own with bands of shoppers taking to it suggesting a ban on Unilever products.  Unilever told Tesco (who had withdrawn/ran out of  many products) to lump it when they challenged the 10% rise across the best selling Unilever product range.  Unilver with its £2 billion profit in the first half of this year eventually climbed down after the social media storm - - - maybe we could try this with the fuel !!! where diesel at our local big supermarket outlet is an eye watering 114.9 per litre !!!
