http://www.netweather.tv precipitation display
According to the charts there isnt a low in SI but this huge blob of rain showers look like its circulating around the rings i have added to the display.  I would imagine this is an indication we will get some rain later from the incoming showers in the morning unless they weakens
C C C Cold at 5.1c this morning! It did get down to 5.0 a few minutes ago definitely the start of Autumn !
The weathercam has its "season of mists of mellow fruitfulness" mantle on this morning.  Rather fitting as its the 1st of October.  Viz is about 200 metres at present so not much in the way of a view.
Forecasts for today: Met O Sunny periods to 12:00 then a heavy shower period from 15 to 18:00 followed by a light shower period until it darkens .  Metcheck: Sees a cloudy day from the go and the heavy shower period extending into the evening until 21:00 - - - not a day for striding the hills much! - - -
Update 11:15
The earlier blanket cover of mist and fog is clearing now (11:15)

This approaching rain cloud had me running  to get the washing in a few minutes later yesterday afternoon

soon after though all was sunny again
and the sky was clear around 19:30 as the sun set

Birdfeeder action
There was lots of action on the feeders yesterday but i had to do something about the peanut feeder.  The magpies had managed to take out some of the wire netting around the base and were stealing the nuts wholesale.
my solution was to put a band of plastic around the base where the gap was - - - here's hoping it works
after managing to keep the tomatoes watered while we we on holiday, its now time to get rid of a few as they stop producing fruit
the bottom leaves on the peppers are drooping a little so they wont be long in following the toms
my efforts at propagating the laurels have been hit and miss this year.  These examples just stuck into some peat around late spring have roots coming out the bottom of the pot.  Others in the ground and pots of soil are now just dead sticks.  So i'm trying again following some internet advice on late September being a good time to propagate
Starting off by sticking some straight into the ground i put 4 behind the butterfly bush and next to the cherry tree
another school of thought says trim the leaves to stop moisture loss so these 3 pots with 8 cuttings each get that treatment.  These are in compost from the compost bin
these 8 cuttings are in compost from the old tomato plants i'll pop in a bit of fertiliser to jazz up the soil

the three pots of 8 in the compost are put in plastic bags and the instruction is to keep them in the light but not full sun so the bit of MDF up against the window will do the trick.  They should propagate in 4 weeks - - -

A PEEK AT THE PAPER

Free coffee and a Fragrance Discovery Box (?) in the Express banners this morning
Good news in the main headline as it proclaims a Full EU Brexit no pussy footing around withy trade agreements and having to to the line on migrant issues says Sir Michael Fallon one of TM's closest Cabinet Allies - - -
Obviously not funny if you are the recipient of Rat on Head but the top headline of "Its shock & Gnaw" starts the ball rolling
The Sun's jokers then have a field day with this photo inside the paper

This Sky News story predicts Air travel disruption as one of Icelands volcanos rumbles.  Its been rumbling for a while and we wondered if our flights might be affected if it erupted.  In 2010 another of Icelands Volcano's caused massive European air travel disruption withe its ash cloud after such and iruption
This apparently is the last photo taken by Rosetta before it crashed into the Comet 67P.  £1bn dollars and the last photo is out of focus - - - come on guys! - - -
