LOCAL WEATHER NOW AND FORECAST FOR TODAY
==============================
The rain blobs on the display make me think today's weather might start dry but with them heading straight for us its looking inevitable that we might have some rain later on
Its pretty cold this morning, earlier fog has cleared quite quickly so here's looking forward to the promised sunny periods - - -
There's just enough light for the weathercam to pick up the cloudy sky right now but there are a couple of gaps showing.  I'll post another shot later - - -
update 11:00
The Temp is still below double figures but the weathercam shows there are gaps in the cloud and the sun is breaking through

Local weather for today :  Metcheck are looking towards it being Sunny this morning but with Showers anytime after 15:00 and on into the evening.  The Met O has us with Sunny intervals this morning and a Rainy picture from as early as 12:00 until 21:00 - - -

It was a pretty slow day yesterday what with Sally having been behind the wheel for almost 6 hours the previous day.
I pottered in the garden clipping the rosemary hedge which had sprouted quite vigorously since its mid summer clipping.  I decided it was also time to put the delicate plants into the greenhouse for the winter.  looking at the laurel hedge which had also sprouted new growth i clipped off another dozen cuttings in an attempt to get them propagating - - - time will tell

We wandered down the pub at lunchtime and bumped into our friends who regaled us with a funny Owl story.  During the night they heard a strange tapping noise on the window and slowly drawing back the curtains there was a Tawny Owl staring back in at them.  After a while it just silently flew off into the farmyard.  We hear the local Owls quite a lot at night and one was screeching not far away last night - - - maybe its the time when they make their presence felt!

driving home from No 1 Daughters (the elder) the other day we came off the M1 a couple of junctions North of our usual spot and just before entering Matlock we noticed a small Vineyard by the side of the road.  Musing that it was a bit far North for any sizeable crop of grapes i spotted This story from the BBC on a Vineyard in Siberia! - - - amazing! - - -

This Guardian feature  encompasses The big Butterfly  count  never knew there was one? which took place in July and August.  The report claims that this year "Record low numbers" were recorded. July and August are chosen because of the adult period of most species says the report. I think locally that we saw more butterflies in September judging by the numbers on ours and other local  Buddleia bushes.  note in diary to count next year! - - -

A PEEK AT THE PAPER
Kate smiles out from the banners along with a claim that a Mediterranean diet can stop the pain of arthritis.  I think living their might help also!  - - -
The Main headline has our MP's yet again going against the democratic voting of the people and juts not "understanding democracy"  - - - get in line morons! - - -
= = =
In the Sun the paper does a feature length hatchet job on a man who has served time for supporting a terrorist cause and is now working for one of the big supermarkets - - -
