LOCAL WEATHER NOW AND FORECAST FOR TODAY
==============================
http://www.netweather.tv precipitation display
Locally we are slap bang in the middle of the blob the middle arrow is pointing at just now.  The rain has been coming down for a good 30 minutes now
the rain falling now has taken the temp down below double figures, I'm surprised there isn't any wind because the rain looks like it is being blown along. 2.5mm in the last hour gives some idea of how heavy the rain is
07:30 now and the rain is still sweeping up the valley the rain radar indicates we might be clear of it in about 40 minutes or so

Local forecast for today:
The Met O is predicting rain for the whole day until 21:00 in varying amounts and %age possibilities.  Metcheck has a similar theme. - - - Waterproofs on for the walk then !

I noticed yesterday that the birdfeeder camera was being affected by the sun shining directly into its lens.  It causes multiple recordings as the tree branches between it and the sun move and also whites out the view at times.  One of my tasks yesterday was to fit a blind on the top of the fence in an attempt to stop this  - -

Once again last night i caught the little mouse on the bird table feeder as i was switching off the IR on the camera
Another regular visitor throughout the day is one of the local Robins

With the rain holding off yesterday until the afternoon i decided to walk round the fields, a walk i haven't done in a while
lots of cloud about and the Autumn colours are really showing now
down by Owl barn the land owner has hard topped the muddy track
at the far end of the fields i turn and follow the wall that leads down to the river
the end field is sown with some kind of root crop.  I think it might be to feed the sheep during the winter
There are lots of holes built into the wall for pheasants and the like to pass from one field to the other but this hole goes directly under an oak tree on the other side.
from the scratch marks around the holes i think it must be a badger set here a hole emerges from under the oak tree and another hole is close by
with the river as low as it is at present it was easy to get a good shot up
and then down the river by standing on the exposed stones
the fallen tree that still has its roots attached to the bank is still managing to survive
I make the circuit and the weather has improved a little the rain will come later on.

I've heard some tall tales about the weather but This one from the Met O will take some beating. It claims the Met O with a £100 million supercomputer will help predict winter weather a year ahead.  - - - Mmmm - - -

The Rio Olympic medallists with their 216 gongs adorned trucks in yesterdays parade through Manchester.  Wait a minute? there were only 214 medals won by Britain.  These two jokers with their fake medals  bluffed their way onto the floats amid what was classed as "heavy security" ! - - -
