LOCAL WEATHER NOW AND FORECAST FOR TODAY
==============================
http://www.netweather.tv precipitation display
the rain display is looking more like its normal self after yesterdays East West flows converging on each other.  I didn't spot any heavy rainfall as a result.  Todays weather is once again coming from the East and no doubt we will get a little rain from it.
still not double figures on the early morning Temp but i guess that's about normal for Oct.  The rainfall was quite significant at 6.7mm yesterday so maybe that blob coming out of the Atlantic did affect us to some degree. Todays wind speed will make it feel chilly if it manages to keep up around where it is now

The weathercam is a little brighter than yesterday but the sky is still full of cloud once again this morning

Local Weather predictions for today:  The Met O has us under a 60% probability of rain all day so its probably time to check out the waterproofs!  Metcheck on the other hand has it sunny periods until 12:00 then only a small chance of light showers until 18:00 - - - only time will tell

After organising a walk with for yesterday with my No 1 Daughter (the younger) some time ago the weather was not kind as i drove up to Ladybower reservoir, the low cloud and mist was making itself felt.
the level of the reservoir is very low for the time of year as i try to get a shot of a Grey Heron on the other side of the water (too small to see)
looking up the water the pipes that cross it are a good 12 feet above the normal level
I'm quite early for the walk and its lovely and quiet gazing up the reservoir
the smell of bacon drifting across the car park is too much and i indulge in a bacon cob.  This Robin soon spots me and i feed it a few bits of bread.  It is almost tame enough to jump up on my hand but not quite that bold
There are as expected some huge bits of fingus around.  This growing on the old tree trunk it probably killed in the first place.  Its very old but i reckon its Chicken of the Woods
meeting up and then letting Charlotte devour a bacon bun we set off anti clockwise passing this odd lump of fungus that i have no idea what it is.  This spot however is where a huge branch of a tree hit me in 2006 and i relate the story to her
the view across the water onto the surrounding hills gets a little better
and the summit of the far distant Win Hill is the only one locally still obscured
I remark that these Fly Agaric mushrooms were there on the day that i was hit by the tree branch.  I had wondered if they might be present!
The view back down the reservoir is quite good as we walk across the Ashopton Viaduct and make our way back to the cars.  We complete the walk in 1 hour 50 minutes and then hit the Yorkshire Bridge Inn for a well earned lunch before parting and returning home. As we drive away the sun is shining! - -

Sally Texts me while i'm out walking and tells me she has an interview for a part time Cattery job in Bakewell.  So that will be today's (Wed) challenge for her.   I'm having a go at setting up a camera to catch what i think might be Jumping Jack Flash the cat who appears to be following LM in and eating all his food overnight.   - - -

A LAST PEEK AT THE PAPERS
I'm not going to include spreads of the front pages in the blog anymore.  The newspapers are interesting to flick through but the messages they send are always a little on the outrageous side.

The banners have Boris Johnson asking for a protest at Russia's actions in Syria - - - and theres an offer for "Bridget Jones's Baby for £5 ! - - -
The main story is yet another attempt at silencing the minority who wish to remain in the EU why dont the government just get on with it! Will Youngs exit from Strictly makes the front page, one source quotes disagreement with one of the judges Young says his leaving was for "Personal reasons" which just about endorses the spat theory.
A bunch of students apparently on a U tube video shoot make the front of a couple of papers due to the Scary Clown craze link - - -
