Not a rain cloud in sight on the Netweather radar this morning - - - looking good
The Temp is just getting to the mild figures. Just a little rain recorded yesterday. Metcheck were right on the money with their prediction of a line of showers down the Pennine range in the afternoon yesterday
Another early morning misty start in the valley right now . Forecasters agree that today will be fine and sunny.

With the sun shining yesterday i enlisted the help of Sally to get this tree out of the tangled mess of some old branches underneath it. In this photo she has a ringside seat as i get out the ropes and slings
i saw off some of the side branches to get at the two bits of main trunk
standing on top of the trunk its time to hitch up the first piece
we are having to bring the bits out over the stream so of course the end gets stuck in the bank. I decide to saw it into half again to enable me to lift it up enough to clear the bank
some time later the fruits of our labours lie in a pile as Sally and Boris tow out another piece
the final pile of large bits
finally we have a reasonable pile. The large branches i can manoeuvre and cut in situ along with a huge piece of the base trunk of the tree. I might tackle that bit first because the nettles and undergrowth are getting a bit on the thick side already this year
Back home and number 8 load in this store all stacked. Time to watch a bit of the French open.
