WEATHER TODAY
After the few days of cold weather it has been pleasant to be warm again.
just a little precipitation over Scotland again this morning but its looking like today will be fine locally
The current Temp is the lowest its been all night, this often happens as dawn breaks.  The Max Temp today is predicted to be 17c
a nice clear shot on the weathercam heralds another nice day.  The strange shape mid left is a jackdaw flying in for an early breakfast.

is just happened to notice this shot from one of the garden cameras last night its just after 21:30 with the sun having set across the valley

Once again after some work on my book i decided the afternoon should have a bit of logging time in it.
after collecting a piece of blue plastic from a previous stash site I wandered over to the knoll, it was warm enough to take off the jacket right away and the wind didnt have the cold edge to it for a change
an hour later and I'm about finished on the knoll apart from the ones close to the gate and fence for which i will need Sally's help.  I'll burn the brashings pile which is quite big because they are in what looks like a bomb crater in Autumn
i turn my attention to the next bit, a huge hawthorn in a ditch, this needs clearing before i can sort out the two large already felled trees, behind it - -
after adding to the pile its time to leave, as i plod up the hill past the holly tree I'm not allowed to fell, I spot three fox cubs playing underneath it in the sunshine.  As i stop they notice me and with surprised expressions all dash into the den.
The resident Swallows are firmly back in the farm buildings now and can be seen wheeling around in the sky looking for bugs or down by the muddy stream bank picking up mud to repair or build their nests.  Sitting in the garden we spotted House Martins that generally nest in the eaves of a building across the road from us,  The Swifts however are still not in evidence.

I have been experimenting with software for our IP cameras for a few days now and the familiar fault of dropping all the wifi connected items on the router re-surfaced.  I had initially, some time ago thought the router might be on its way out.  All the cameras but one are the same make so I unhooked the "renegade" - - - viola! fingers crossed the fault seems to have been remedied.  The renegade is a Sricam which i have to admit was very cheap the others are Foscam which i have never had any trouble with - - the old adage of "you get what you pay for springs to mind!
