LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
The netweather radar shows some rain about but it does look to be thinning out from an hour ago.  With the wind driving up from the continent its unlikely we will get any locally today
nice and warm already and 22c is on the cards today
the early morning valley mist has cleared now so we are all set for a warm sunny day, little chance of any rain.

Diana back on the front page of the Express! there was a period when she appeared on it everyday for months.  At least this time its good news that her grave site at Althorp is to be given a facelift after years of neglect

After a shaky start yesterday we set off to have a go at felling a few trees
The trees by the gate are first and then the two above and in line with my blue jacket are next.  If we don't use Boris to pull them in the right direction both gate and fence will be flattened
almost done with the ones by the gate.  They all fall along the wall or into the trackway.  Boris is still attached to one at this point but he's hidden from view by all the felled branches
a bit of repositioning for Boris and we are set for the others
the first one was well over a foot thick at the base and i can be seen going at it with the saw
it took longer than i expected and Sally took this shot just as it started to fall
and there we are all ready for reducing into firewood.  It will certainly increase the height of the woodpile.
the knoll is now clear of trees, the large one at left is just off the top and it will probably start off next year felling
as a parting shot we burned the oldest of the brashings piles.  It took a bit to get going because the wind was a little light.
LM looks really cross at us because we have just washed out his ears.  For a couple of days now he has been pawing at them and shaking his head as if there's something in there.  Having had a look then used a cleaner we got from the vet some time ago he still seems a little uncomfortable so its a trip to the vet tomorrow for LM - - -
