LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
Locally today we look to be in for a bit of a soggy day.  The weather is coming from the SE to NW, Frequent showers look to be the order of the day
It's nice and warm again and the Bar. Tendency doesn't show the coming rain yet.  There is a bit of a breeze from the N but the current stats didn't record it
The weathercam has a view of the clouds and rain is expected any minute from the looks of things. The forecast is looking towards persistent rain from about 10:00 a.m. with significant amounts in the afternoon after 15:00

Top flight on the front of the Express is a a story about Boris saying we would be mad to stay in the EU. Other stories warn of massive losses of jobs in "the city" - - - and? - - - another that the price of our loans would be hiked by EU countries - - - another and? - - -
The Sun has an amusing photo of Ms Merkel animating the PM ! - - -

I spent nearly an hour talking on the phone to a bloke in Cape Town yesterday!  Interesting to note that its "very cold there" - - -
Of course here it was quite warm so it was out to the logging site to process the trees we felled on Saturday
As i drove down the hill a couple of blokes with a mini digger were clearing a drain until the machine broke down.  Then a series of comings and goings still did not resolve the issue, I have never seen any kind of land maintenance going on from the people that rent the land I work on so I thought it worthy of note
A clear blue sky and a brisk cooling breeze met me as i stripped off the covers from the pile

it takes quite a time to first saw off all the thin branches and get rid of them before sawing the half decent sized ones into firewood.  A couple of hours later I'm nearly there
I finally throw all the larger pieces that need splitting down near the pile and having run out of water decide its time to go home.  I don't bother to properly cover the pile - - - so of course that's the signal for the weather to change because we have had some overnight rain.  No problem though the wind will soon dry off any moisture.

back home and after topping up the wood store alongside Cyril's parking spot, I repair the hole in the plastic sheeting in Boris's spot.  The mice had got behind all the wood last year and chewed a large hole in it with which to make nests!  I lay the first row
and it doesn't take long to get a nice looking pile, it will take me a number of trips to fill the spot - - - i might record how many - - -

After that it was time to sit in the garden with a cool drink of fizzy orange
having noticed previously that our pear leaves were wilting we filled up the pot and noticed that it drained quite quickly.  The tree was originally in a shady spot which didn't get much rain.  Some heaving and straining early yesterday morning got it to where it is now, its in a concrete pot so it was a bit of an effort! - - - In the full sun it started to wilt again so we constructed a waterproof reservoir around the bottom of it in an effort to stem the flow.  We both agree that it should go into the ground on the terrace above the pond in Autumn/Winter this year.
