LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
We have just had a belt of rain and with the weather coming form the East its looking like we are in for a few more today.
Another warm start but the Bar Tendency is definitely set for rain
the weathercam shows some mist and low cloud almost obscuring the Nine Ladies hill.  There's no wind so it might take some time to clear.  Forecasters are going for rain at anytime today with a hint that tomorrow might see a day with little chance of any rain
Chatsworth are hosting an International Horse Trials  this Fri Sat Sun i bet they have welcomed the rain on the rock hard dry ground but fingers crossed that the forecasters predictions for a dry three days are correct

I looked at the weather reports yesterday early enough to realise it might be very wet after lunch and made a dash up to the logging site to pick up some wood for the winter store and smash up the stuff i cut the day before
I fill up the tote bag in the back of Boris before moving on the the work area

The blokes who have been digging out the ditch but have been thwarted by a broken down digger, had reached the area next to the pile of brashings i burned the other day.  It struck me that
the tree lying furthest away in this shot is lying across the ditch, maybe they'll pull it onto the bank with their digger to get at the ditch, that would be handy
here's the logs i need to split before the rain comes

I had been asked recently to explain the use of a "tyre" to help split logs.  Well here it is just stack the logs in the tyre
then walk around it smashing the top of each log.  then just add them to the stack.  If you split logs individually the bits fly of f in all directions so more effort is required in collecting the bits and stacking them
The job took a little over an hour and I'm only left with a half dozen pieces I cant split.  These will be sawn up into bits small enough to go into the log burner
Back home by 10:00 I stack the wood in Boris's car port, just as i finish the first spots of rain start to appear.  The rain just gets worse and worse for most of the afternoon.  At least the garden gets a good soaking
