The grouse need a chef & Cyril stumble on the MOT

This is the founder of the "North Face" brand of outdoor clothing, he has died as a result of a kayacking accident on a lake in Patagonia.  The irony of his death is not only his involvement with outdoor clothing but that he died of severe hypothermia in a place where he bought vast tracts of land to turn them into protected nature parks. - - -

the cat on the wall and the lady on the phone are part of the flood aftermath in Cumbria, the wet mark on the wall behind them both shows how high the recent flood waters got. - - - more heavy rain  is forecast for Friday and the coming weekend - - -

The Express has yet another "pill to fight Alzheimers" but "Trumps plan to ban muslims from America" is what caught my eye.  I belive there's a petition to ban him from the UK - - - I dont think its worth signing

divert EU cash and Foeriegn aid  to our own flood victims says Mr Farage - - - hard to argue with the logic, impossible to understand why its not already been done! - - -

Yesterday it was time to cruise over to Chesterfield and visit the Aldi shop again, its looking like we might make Tuesday our regular Aldi day once i "retire". On the way back we spotted hundreds of deer in Chatsworth.  So on our way to lunch i tried to get a few pics without stopping of course!

the Fallow Deer are generally about and quite easy to spot,  this lot are quite close to a water trough just on the edge of the forest in the dip

more of them up on the hillside
and more as we get close to Edensor village boundary up on the hill.  Sally has seen the Red Deer recently but they are not visible today
up at the Grouse at Froggatt the view from the car park looks to have rain where we have just come from and we hear about the difficulty the boss is having recruiting a chef  - - - Anyone want a job??? click here
We notice the bosses daughter has been drafted in to help with a large ish function and we haven't seen her since her son was born a few months back - - as we leave the rain clouds have been replaced by the sun but its none too warm in the wind

It was an early start for Cyril the van yesterday, time for his MOT and service.  Checking the answer machine during the day it looked good as no, "we need to see you" messages were on it.  When i went to collect him however he had had to have 2 broken springs replaced - - - hey ho! - - -

having relieved the pond of the plants apart from one we finally re-sighted them at the top of the garden.  It seemed a shame to throw them out because they grow so well in the summer.  Having dug a trench we put in a bit of pond liner and then popped them into it.  We just need to make sure they dont dry out next year - - -
