Amazon new delivery vehicle & wet and windy once again

Dont be surprised if your next Amazon order gets delivered by this, their Delivery drone  .  This one can only fly for 15 miles at the moment but Amazon expect big things from this thing that is half way between a plane and a drone -- -

we decided to drive up to Ladybower and Derwent reservoirs the other day and take a short walk
 it was a bit of a dull day and the reservoir was a good 10 to 12 feet from its maximum level
 the ducks and birds were glad we remembered to bring the spare bread
 I discovered a walk earlier in the year up on the hills in this pic i must get up there again sometime

 the tree past the power lines has fallen over the stump in the foreground is the one cut down by the National trust after a bough from it fell on me!
 the long bough at the foot of the tree is the one that fell on me and its still around

 this is the entrance to the old rectory of the now submerged village of Derwent
 with the water level so low it is easy to make out where parts of the village were
 what looks like a roadway is a bridge over what is known as the mill brook.  Back in the 90's with the level another 10 feet down we saw the bridge this youtube video affords an excellent view of the whole village area
 i cross the bridge and get a pic of Sally
 looking back up the reservoir
 this pile of logs has been here for over 10 years and was much larger once but its gradually being used for something

 a nice view of the bridge and the hills
 back up the reservoir from the bridge
 and from the other bank of the reservoir, the hill in the background with its flat top and steep drop always reminds of a hill in the Oman, i must wander up to it one day
a last look across to the site of the old village before we return to the van

It's getting to be common knowledge that i'm leaving the shop and some people are expressing their surprise in various ways.  A few customers who i speak to regularly have come out with some classic comments - - - one i thought was quite funny from an old guy who after listening to my tale casually said "well all the best" and started to walk away only to turn and say, "don't forget once you retire you don't get any days off!" - - -
Another said "ah yes, you get to that stage in life where you realise you are living on borrowed time and its time to retire".  (!!)
so only one set of shifts to go and i agreed with the HR girls that i wont be taking any of my owed holidays so there's another few bob into the bank.
===============================
The weather has turned colder in the last few days and we managed over half an inch of rain yesterday!
the http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ chart still has high winds our on the coast but inland after a windy rainy night its quite calm now.  Their forecast is for the wind to pick up again but have less rain than the last 24 hrs. - - -
Sally has just returned form her early morning walk to report that it is bitterly cold and raining
The weather channel  has us believing the jet stream is set to bring more wet and windy weather although the Met O thinks that toiday will be a little drier once we get to 12:00
==================================
 a cold temp this morning at under 5c
the weathercam shows the mist/cloud covering the top of the valley and its still raining
