More flood reports & don't look at the video if you're scared of spiders

 the newspaper headlines up the anti as more rain is forecast to exacerbate the current problem
 The mirror makes a point over alleged flood barrier money cuts by the PM
http://news.sky.com/video/1601607/before-and-after-the-floods  this pic of an area near Glenridding starts off a video of before and after shots of the flood devastation
 While this pic fronts a story about how thousands of homes are without power until the flood waters recede before engineers can assess the damage to the grid system
===================================
Away from the floods this pic of a frozen debris lobe threatens the Dalton highway in Alaska - - - interesting angle on climate change

dont watch the video in this clip  if you don't like spiders! - - -
==========================
locally we are being spared almost any rain although the forecast for today is hinting that we will get some - - - With Sally having done the Christmas cards i volunteered to get some stamps and post them.  wanting a walk i wandered down the A6 into Two Dales because our local post office has been has been closed a few months now
 after the post office i wandered down the side of Whitworth park and began walking down what will become part of the new cycle path between Peak Rail and the parks Western boundary.  Looking up into the park i reflected on the decision to build a number of houses somewhere in the park area, i cant see it being on this bit though
 along the path and now in Chrurchtown i head for the fields and notice that the metal fence in the foreground has been recntly replaced.  I bet that cost a pretty penny!
 hitting the muddy open fields i look South and see this wedge of cloud approaching and wonder if I'm in for a soaking.  In actual fact the wedge seems to be around and static most of the day
 some of the old metal fence seems to be used here to keep the sheep out of the river, making it difficult for the fishermen to get to their stile
 this stile is half covered in twigs, showing how high the river must have risen after the late November rain
 still reasonably high the River surges through a narrow rocky bit
 this tree has been down a while, i wonder if we'll have enough rain to raise the level enough to wash it downstream.  In the past the environment agency people come to drag them out
 I spotted a heron fishing right on the end of the little island almost on the far bank of the river but he had gone way before i took this shot
Almost home now and looking back at the wedge of cloud down the Peak Rail entrance track.  There's a sign apologizing for the state of the track at the entrance, people building the cycle pathway are getting the blame and will no doubt be asked to rectify it once they are finished.  Truth be told its nearly always full of potholes and water - - -
======================================
 a warm Temp at nearly 12c but the wind and rain are cooling things off a bit!
not light yet but the rain is affecting the weathercam already
===========================
13:50 now and the sun is shining like there's no tomorrow.  Its cooler than this morning though and as soon as the sun dips below the rim of the valley its going to be chilly
==========================================
Enjoy the day
