The Express turns it main attention away from miracle health cures and the weather with this headline Outcry At £3BN Energy Rip Off. This fact will probably not come as a surprise to anyone! - - - Not abandoning their weather warnings one of the banners
contains this graphic which they claim belongs to storm Eva . The weather leading up to Christmas day is expected to be mild but with some significant winds and rainfall.

The Mail Carries a similar story with lots of pics showing people enjoying the unseasonally warm weather

meanwhile in New South Wales the Aussies are having a hard time fighting bush fires in their summer A total fore ban has been imposed in an effort to stop more bush fires. The fire map in the article shows fires all around Sydney while in South Australia at Port Augusta a temperature of 47.2 degrees C was recorded last Saturday

Tomorrow (22nd Dec) is The Winter Solstice It is normally associated with the 21st but the article in the link explains it very well

I think i picked up a bit of a throat infection on my last shift at work a week ago today, i remember this one particular customer just coughing all over everyone and everything. Not thinking it was anything too extreme it was just subsiding when i realised it was turning into a cold a couple of days ago! I now have full blown "man flu"
Hopefully it will disappear before Christmas day when we are due out for lunch. Until then its a case of Beechams flu plus and hunker down in front of the fire - - - deep joy
One thing about having the man flu is that my book is getting some attention! I have managed to get along with inserting more pics and am thinking i might complete it by the time Santa is delivering!
I let Sally read the interesting portion yesterday and she anounced it fit for printing!
===============================
even with the man flu I ventured out yesterday because it looked such a nice bright day
this wedge of cloud was off to the South and didnt look like it was making much progress in our direction
a great view over to the Nine Ladies hill from almost the highest point of the walk
the pond had lots of leaves floating on it not long ago but its clear now
the logging in the wood doesn't look to be getting much further on although a number of trees higher up the hill look to have been grubbed out
a great view up towards Haddon and Bakewell from the Golf Course
down by the river and its still very clear and sunny
even though its a little after 10:00 the sun is very low in the sky
I was just taking my usual shot across the river when a small flock of Long Tailed Tits started scavenging for seeds in the bushes right in front of me
standing perfectly still they appeared unconcerned as they went about their business
I was hoping that this one might work its way up the hand rail but the flock decided it was time to move on
================================================
with a starry sky not long ago it was going to be cool start this morning and the 5.2c bears that out
that large wedge of cloud off to the South is forecast to cover us and give some rain although that was also the plan which failed to materialise yesterday!
===================
Enjoy the day
