one of the banner headlines in today's Express reports the finding of the former Eastenders actress and her 2 children butied in her garden by her partner who is now reported to have fled to Ghana. A main headline about the UK's exit from the EU shows its not all bad news today - - -

Its official then according to this Sky News story December 2015 was the wettest December since records began in 1910 coming along a close second it was also the warmest December for 105 years with average temperatures 4.1c above the long term average. Videos and photos litter the article and it finishes off with a prediction for the second half of January to be colder and drier - - - hopefully bringing some relief to the flooded areas

With yesterdays forecast and rain radar looking like the rain would only be scattered and brief i set forth on the White Edge walk i have now got into the habit of doing on our lunch out days
==
at the start the recent heavy rain is still flooding down the road
out on the moor its a similar story with the waterlogged ground trying to drain away the surface water. The wall on the left of this pic leads me up the only hill of any significance on this walk
up on White Edge its sandy path has standing water but none of the earlier mud
the mist and low cloud abound, the wind however is coming from directly behind me where last time I did this walk it was coming straight at me
getting along towards the end of the White Edge I spy a huge misty blob which looks like it's heading for me
a few minutes later i'm enveloped in it
standing in front of the lunchstop and looking back up to White Edge its looking like the mist is clearing
Sally arrives in Boris
after lunch we step out into a downpour but hey ho! its only rain the light patch in the sky makes me think it wont last for long
this track has been created recently to help people avoid walking down the main road after parking their cars to get up onto Froggatt edge. The tracks drainage system could do with some improvement!
back onto the gritstone/sandy track and although their is standing water, once again its not muddy. The very heavy rain has almost stopped by now
a great view to the far end of Froggatt edge where I'm headed. The track here is to the left of this rocky outcrop
a very dramatic sky on this pic with it being almost clear overhead and looking South to Chatsworth the rainclouds are still evident
at the end of the walk the earlier downpour has just increased the flow of water down the road
driving through Chatsworth I spotted the fallow deer and quickly stopped to snap them with the Emperor Fountain and House as a backdrop

I have mentioned before about this fluffy black cat who we christened Jumping Jack Flash. The name comes from the fact that he will wait on the steps out of sight of LM as he emerges from the electronic chip controlled cat flap. Its only downfall is the latch makes a noise as LM's chip activates it and if JJF is quick enough he can rush LM who backs off into the house as JJF hits the flap before the latch springs back up, once in he eats LM's ample supply of food. This pic shows JJF a little slow off the mark this time as he runs headlong into the locked flap - - - gotcha!
===================
pretty cool out but there is little or no wind at the moment
