LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
the large blob of rain on the Netweather display was with us last night and particularly heavy around 03:00
locally we are clear at this time but there are plenty of isolated showers to come today methinks
nice and warm at almost 16c with just a hint of a breeze. The wind was gusting periodically earlier. 7.2 mm of rain overnight is quite a bit of rain!
the weathercam has an almost cloud covered view, no rain at the moment though. The Met O is only forecasting chances of rain until 12:00 then sunny periods (!) Metcheck has the same forecast but more cloud in the afternoon with just a chance of light rain.

Working once again on the book yesterday i only had time for a couple of breaks into the garden
during my visits the view was pretty good
quite clear in the morning but towards 15:00 it started to cloud over and we had some light rain around 17:00 onward.
Mark Cavendish wins his third stage of this years Tour de France in fine style
he commented "It was terrifying just like the old days, wheel surfing " his win takes him into second place in outright stage wins in the history of the tour. Todays stage takes the riders into the Pyrenees with a huge 12km climb before a shirt descent to the finish - - -

Having made significant progress with the book yesterday i even managed to save the word file as a .mobi (!?) the Kindle Publishing format. I then sucked it into my Kindle Fire and it looks pretty cool. The photo's are naturally small but i have decided to include a link to a web album so readers can view them full size so to speak. The format for photos in Kindle books is crucial otherwise they spill over the "pages" and split causing all kinds of problems. Even the Kindle instructions are a bit vague about the formatting but as usual there are you tube video's and online blogs that explain the correct procedure .
I put the PC to sleep mode last night and this morning, waking it up was a problem. The desktop looked odd with the icons rearranged and my wallpaper had gone. I had to prod it for a while then gave in and restored it to an earlier time but there are still are odd things not working its looking like a full security scan is in order!

A PEEK AT THE PAPERS
The banners look at the Wimbledon Tennis from an odd angle and the wall collapse that killed 5 people
In the main headline its all about the two ladies battling to be the next PM - - a theme copied in many papers this morning
Comparing the combatants to Ms Thatcher is a tad premature i think
