LOCAL WEATHER TODAY
not a lot on the Netweather.TV display this morning lets hope it might stay that way
Just about double figures on the Temp this morning no breeze at all right now and a Barometric tendency to sunshine! - - -

a nice view on the weathercam to start the morning.  Forecasters are looking towards a dry sunny/cloudy day - - -

Round the garden
the fish are in reproduction mode as the males chase the females around the pond.  We have only ever had one spawning, some years ago, of which about 7 survived to be big enough to be seen darting amongst the plants.  We only have 2 of those left now
This Arum Lily is growing in an old bed at the top of the garden.  When we cleared out the pond in winter we popped all the plants in a pond liner up in the bed.  The idea appears to have worked.
We tried some cherries from the tree also at the top of the garden - - - very nice.  Last year the birds managed to beat us to it!
the peas have at last got flowers, the fruits wont be long in coming
some of the water lilies are opening fully while others will reach the surface and just flop over.
Our frind Sharons mile a minute vine looks like its got designs on reaching our garden as it makes its way along the wall !

LM leaps into the laundry bag.  When his siter was alive they would play in it.  Either both inside wrestling away, or on in and one out pawing at each other - - - -

The forecast a couple ofdays ago looked ok for yesterday, we had planned to return to the ER ridge and have a picnic on the bench by the footpath
as we walked up the ridge there was the odd blue bit but nothing to get exited about
we spotted this amanita rubescens,  a really early specimen for the time of year.  Maybe we are heading for an early autumn?
Sally forges on along the ridge path
we make the bench and are luckily sheltered form the breeze by the very long ferns on the other side of the path
the view, as usual is great
Having downed the picnic we return to the road and notice the tree with the Polyporous Squamosus is really ravaging the base now.  If its not cut down soon the winter winds might do the job - - -
we both notice there are no nuts on the Hazel tree's alongside the road - - - the local squirrels will be having a hard time this winter! - - -
