Quite a dsisplay of the high altitude clouds
being moved by the jet stream earlier this morning
On the Netweather.tv rain display the large blob looks like its headed for the Lake District. Locally we are clear
Cold! an hour ago it was 5.8C looking at my records sad i know! it was 15.4c this time last year. At least the Bar Tendency is to sunshine and I feel sure it will warm up quite quickly
The sun has reached the bottom of the valley so we will be feeling it in our garden in about 20 mins. Great view on the weathercam! The forecasters are heading towards a sunny day at least until 12:00 when their paths diverge. Met O predict rain after 18:00 while Metcheck says it can come anytime after lunch - - -

After joining Sally in the garden and picking at a few weeds we decided on a lazy day and popped down the local for a couple of beverages

After joining Sally in the garden and picking at a few weeds we decided on a lazy day and popped down the local for a couple of beverages
We sat out in the sunshine and i noticed this Sparrow picking grit out of the sandstone blocks that make up the coins in this old stable building
here it is really poking its head into the hole previously made. We have seen this for a number of years surely it cant be the same bird, maybe they pass it on as a source of grit to their broods. Strange thing about Sparrow's round here. We only live less than a milke away " as the Sparrow flies" but we dont have resident Sparrows. Only once years ago have we ever seen a single sparrow visit the garden.
