Storm Barbara is still with us but the strong winds of yesterday have receded locally.  At one point we had the wind swirling around and coming from different directions while driving the rain in front of it - - - quite impressive to watch.  The blobs above Sheffield on the display this morning look to be developing rather than fading so we might get some rain later.

 pretty cool outside and the sky was quite clear about an hour ago.  No wind to speak of,  only 4.1mm of rain yesterday but it all fell in such a short time.

The Met O  Has a windy chilly showery day before it gets a little warmer later in the day.  Showers could merge into longer periods of rain.  

BBC Weather  has a sunny cloudy day until 15:00 when the rain will begin and last until midnight after which it will get warmer into Christmas morning - - -
