LOCAL WEATHER NOW AND FORECAST FOR TODAY
==============================
Not a lot of rain on the display this morning
The wider Met O view shows more lining up for Scotland and Northern England but locally we might escape any significant  rain until well after dark
= == =
The Temp is just about on the mild side but the forecast is for it to be cooler than of later today

Today's local weather forecast
Met O Peak District:  Rather cloudy through the early hours with the odd shower. Sunday will start rather misty in places with some areas of hill fog in the west of the park. This should soon thin away from the highest summits during the morning, with cloud lifting and breaking to give some spells of hazy sunshine, and a much improved day for activities on the hills, although with temperatures lower than of late.
Precipitation probability:  20%  down to - 0%
Visibility:  Moderate to good, becoming very good or excellent. Very poor in hill fog.
Hill Fog:  Locally broken or blanket near 400m to start the day, mainly in the west, becoming well broken or broken around 600m.
Max wind above 400m:  West to northwest 30-40mph, decreasing 20mph by evening.
Temperatures
Valleys:  Plus 4 becoming Plus 9 Celsius
600m:  Plus 4 Celsius
Freezing level:  Well above the summits.

Yahoo Weather: Today - Cloudy with a high of 47 °F (8.3 °C). Winds variable at 4 to 11 mph (6.4 to 17.7 kph).  Tonight - Cloudy. Winds variable. The overnight low will be 37 °F (2.8 °C).

Yesterdays shift at the ATA  was long and frenetic with people obviously out to beat the "Christmas rush" Next Saturday will be even busier and with Christmas eve being on a Saturday well - - - maximum diplomacy mode will be the order of the day methinks - - -
News?
The Express banner is in the Christmas swing now with the free TV guide over the "festive" season.  There's also an offer of a signed Brian May guitar,  probably worth a few bob!
Oh its all right to eat fat now  shouts the main headline.  The story broke ages ago that the advice we have all been getting for years may not be true and that saturated fat foods should be avoided is apparently now bunkum - - - In this never ending stream of rhetoric about what is good and what is not good I have a saying that has to be true.  Inevitably whatever passes your lips will be bad for you - - -
