It's looking like Scotland might be in for a bit of a soaking today. Locally we might be spared anything but the odd shower

The Met O Forecasts a bright sunny day with moderate to strong South Westerly winds and a top temp of 7c. Tonight will be cold with a frost a good possibility.
Yahoo weather Partly cloudy with a top temp of just 5.6c.

Its cold out and with the wind at 6.0 mph its going to be a wrap up warm day for anyone venturing out.

With it being the winter solstice yesterday i stepped briskly forward on my round robin walk
The sun, if we see it will go down where the higher, nine ladies ridge dips down to the lower ground on the left of this shot
as i started off a glimps of the sun seemed unlikely
with no mist around at least i could see across the valley
the view over the pond toward Peak Tor and up to Bakewell had a little commuter pollution in it
at the golf course its a similar picture
a hint of the forecast clearer day is emerging in the Southerly view down the valley
Down on the river path its back to the grey aspect
The river level is very low as the outfall stones show themselves off
The familiar view over the river and across the meadow is a welcome sight as i contemplate a good cup of tea!
the weather did improve considerably after lunch and i manage to catch the Solstice sunset on the weathercam just before a bank of cloud spoils the view!
