LOCAL WEATHER NOW AND FORECAST FOR TODAY
==============================
Once more we have a rain radar display with very little on it.  The very tiny blobs off the NE coast and down in the Dover straits don't look like they will be up to much.  There's even a hint of some sunshine today in the afternoon, see below

Local stats at 07:23
Cold to mild again with this 5. something centigrade temp that we have been plagued with for a while now.  Come on give us some wind rain and cold Temps!  There is a slight breeze so it will feel a little chilly out!

A bit of a grey day view on the weathercam but the forecast is for the cloud to break up and maybe give us a few sunny periods later!

Today's local weather
The Met O forecast has:  Rather cloudy and damp at first, with areas of hill fog. Soon becoming dry, the cloud will also gradually lift and develop breaks during the morning to eventually leave a brighter afternoon, with the best of sunny intervals in the west. Top temp 7c winds above 400 metres 30 mph but easing.

Yahoo weather: Today - Cloudy with a high of 43 °F (6.1 °C). Winds variable at 7 to 9 mph (11.3 to 14.5 kph).
Tonight - Mostly cloudy. Winds variable at 7 to 9 mph (11.3 to 14.5 kph). The overnight low will be 38 °F (3.3 °C).

With a hint of bravado I wielded my new credit card in the Co-op the other day and did my first contactless payment for a few things.  It was a painless experience although not for my sister whose bank account was relived of over £5 the same day .  I noticed in the news that the 3 digit pin might be replaced with something that changes some type of authorisation code every 20 minutes -  The card will physically have to be in the hand of the purchaser online/phone or in retail outlets for the authorisation code  to be visible.  So the skimming of cards and harvesting of details will hopefully become redundant.   sounds good i wonder how long it will be before its used. - -
My full shift at my ATA once more went without any challenges which could not be overcome but as we approach Christmas they will surely and inevitably increase.
With the likely sunny afternoon today we are planning to get the bags of daffodil bulbs currently straining to start growing but sitting in the greenhouse into the ground !
I must first grapple with the bathroom project which has been neglected since we installed the wonderful shower.  An offshoot to the project is the apparent inability of the shower supplier to realise that an "open customer service ticket" can be resolved by sending us a rubber washer costing mere decimal points of a penny! We have now been "escalated" and are with some technical department.  The really eye watering annoying thing about the whole saga is, I'm sending the emails but they insist on answering them to Sally just because she put the order online!
I still do not have my duvet!!!! After being refunded the 1 to 2 day Express postage charge by the suppliers and receiving a blank email from the shippers, Yodel .  I had a mail where i can track the parcel and can see it has been sitting in the Alfreton depot of yodel since "Nov 26, 2016 04:15 am" - - - the saga continues.  Cant wait for the "Please rate our customer service" e mail from the supplier! - - -

In the Express
More"bargains" in the banners, i wonder if the Express has someone trawling companies for this type of stuff?
Mr F is all over the front page declaring that he fears for his life everyday.  Moral of the story - - - If you poke a stick up peoples noses long enough eventually someone will want to do the same to you!

Stories of interest maybe
Ever wondered how to get accounts you have created about yourself deleted off the internet?  Here's the solution   - - - Well kind of, because it uses something called the "google OAuth protocol" it will only work where the account email address is a gmail one . - - -  well its a start - - -

The lady in the photo is Michelle McGagh and this guardian article  covers her year of her life when she was dedicated to "not spending money" .  Definitely worth a read - - - she concludes with a last line gem,  "A year of no spending has taught me what things I really need, and it really isn’t that much".
