Not the same display as in the past few days with the swirling massive weather fronts. Today only has a couple of blobs out in the Atlantic on the Netweather.TV display
This however is the edge of the usual front sweeping across towards us. This broader view from the Met O has it arriving locally well after dark today.
A little on the cool side this morning again and the rainfall 24hrs figure is an impressive 4.1mm
The weathercam viz is better than forecast and looking quite clear just now. Cloud fills the sky and although rain isnt forecast its looking likely - - -

Local weather today:
The Met O forecast for the Peak District is for it to be a misty cold grey morning. The mist will lift slowly by lunchtime and the afternoon might have some sunny periods. Cloud will later reform in the evening and the winds will strengthen before the onset of rain by midnight. Top temp will be 8c and the winds will be 30mph by evening and strengthen later - - -
Yahoo weather predicts a mostly cloudy day with light winds and a top temp of only 6.7c. The approaching rain will make Saturday a wet and soggy one methinks. - - -

Its remembrance day today and millions of people will be pausing at 11:00 to remember the fallen. Sunday will see the usual parades around the country. - - -
The bathroom project moved on another notch yesterday with all the shower plumbing connected and tested. This allowed for some covering of the studded wall frame and at last we look to be getting somewhere. - - - I finished off the day with a short shift at my ATA which was particularly uneventful. I distributed my book adverts to a number of people in the hope of increasing sales. Once the bathroom is finished i can turn my attention to promoting it - - -

The US is being painted as in turmoil over Mr T's win at the polls. Its a change from the hand on heart singing of the anthem that is usually displayed. It does look though as if Mr T will be in for a bumpy ride for a while.

One of Christmas's traditional chocolates haws had a makeover. Toblerone has changed its shape this Metro story tells us. The companyu reckon the change is because of the higher cost of ingredients. - - - Surely its less chocolate so profit must come into the mix somewhere ?- - -
