There's not much by the way of rain about this morning. We have clear skies overhead and a bit of a frost. The little rain showing on the display is set to drift SE without getting near to us.
The first minus figures of the winter! with a -1.9 just now. As usual it gets coldest just before the sunrise so it might scrape -2 before then. update 06:40 -2.1 now
there are a couple of stars still visible in the current weathercam view. Its looking like we are set fair for a cold sunny day

we had a good indication that last night would be cold as these
photos taken around sunset show the clear sky at that point. The Temp then was down to 6.5 so it was inevitable that unless the clouds came frost would appear during the night.

The Met O is indicating we shall have a fine cold sunny day with just a little cloud around. The max Temp for the day will be 6c. http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ Has a more optimistic view with a top Temp for the day of 9c. - - -

We completed another bit of preliminary work on the bathroom yesterday managing to get the old loo out and the new in. Knowing that the sealing of the various washers might be an issue we assembled the new loo at the top of the stairs and poured in a couple of cups of water. It took some time to appear but the inlet pipe started to drip. A quick strip down and turning the washer around, i must have had it the wrong way, resolved it. I did use a good lashing of sealant as well just to make sure. A couple of test flushes later we were good to go.
After managing to wet the floor twice during the installation it was declared "commissioned" . Its an ATA period for the next 2 days then on Friday i might try my hand at getting the studded wall started.

I promoted the book around a number of facebook sites yesterday and tweeted it as well. The net result was 1 sale which i think was my sister in law. I'm resigned to take things easy and be optimistic about sales. I keep thinking that people searching for SAS books might not put in the full stops e.g. S.A.S. like i have on the title. Other SAS books don't have them. I've tried searching using SAS & S.A.S. and the results are interesting, so that might be my first amendment - - -

Interesting photos on the front of the Mail and you have to agree with the headline. Why is nothing being done to stop this use of phones at the wheel though?
