LOCAL WEATHER NOW AND FORECAST FOR TODAY
==============================
http://www.netweather.tv precipitation display
As predicted the rain did reach us early evening and the night was quite a wet one.  This mornings display shows the system going in all directions at the moment and its looking like it will be a wet and breezy day
Another chilly start with the 2.5c Temp and the rain still coming down (we do need it though!).  Strange that the wind is coming from the SE but it could just be the vane blowing around at the time of the record.  8.8mm of rain in the last 24hrs is going some.
this earlier photo of the weathercam with the IR on clearly shows the rain streaking past

07:00 update
the rain can be seen clearly on my "seaweed" and the top of the valley is obscured by low cloud so we cant see if there's any snow up there yet.

Todays local forecast
The Met O Peak District forecast is for heavy snow from now until 09:00 then light snow until 15:00 when we will have some respite with just cloudy skies for the rest of the day.  Top Temp will be 4c and winds between 15 and 20mph.  Yahoo weather has snow until 09:00 then rain from then onwards.  Top Temp is 1.7c and winds are 4 to 7mph  - - -  A bit of an unpleasant day - - -

This great photo fronts a story in The Star informing us that we shall be getting blizzards and 8 inches of snow today.  We will also be subject to "minus 14c Temps "this week" and then 120 days of snow and chaos this winter" Mmmmmmm - - -

The bathroom project
This was the sight that greeted me when i pulled out the bath.  In the corner a hole had been made for the soil pipe through the wall.  It was huge! This however helped when i had to put in the shower waste pipe which needed to go very close to the wall the loo is on
We finished the roof cladding yesterday which looks great. The silver strip looks quite good and i mused that maybe we should have gone for that for the whole bathroom Mmmmm
The floor had to be done next and it was another job i didn't relish too much.  The instructions for the laminate flooring say the sub floor must be flat to within 2mm.  Yeah! like thats going to be true of a house thats 150 years old.  The original floorboards had been ripped up years ago and replaced with chipboard which i had partially covered some years back with a plywood covering.
We laid the laminate directly on top of that and the only difficulty I had was not understanding that the reason why the boards wouldn't line up was because of bits left in the joint grooves by the milling machine.
I had hoped to complete the studding uprights but that was a job too far so it was time to call it a day - - -
LM has a go at my herbal tea! there must be something like catmint in it because he has pulled down the packet previously from a shelf and ripped a bag apart to get at the fragrance
he soon settles down onto his own personal sofa.

The Express has a Scottish dreamer of a headline. with Scots bid to halt EU exit, like that's going to happen!!   The same photo of the Aldi carrot is on the Star as well but a quick search of both papers reveals - - -zero about it - - -
Looking at the American election results its looking like they have finally all lost it by voting in DT  !
