The Daily Express headline and text behind it is a general roundup of what is happening in the UK to combat the terrorists after the Brussels bombings - - -

The 2 people in the photo have been missing on Ben Nevis since 15th of Feb. Yesterday their bodies were found. They most likely were the victims of an avalanche soon after they started climbing. Their small tent was discovered next to the CIC hut below the main climbing area on Ben Nevis when they failed to return from a Valentines weekend climbing in the area - - -

While i was away wandering the Lake District hills the bits that i broke playing around with one of my pond filters was delivered so i gingerly replaced the glass tube that houses the UV bulb popped in a new bulb and got the Pontec 8000 filter back up and running.
=======================
The filter I bought recently a Jebao 6000 is more of a challenge. It does work but the recommended pump size of 3500 litres per hour seems wide of the mark. I only have a 2500 LPH pump working to it and after a few days the water will start to drip from the lip of the box. OK that means the filter foams are trapping waste but i cant believe the pond is that dirty to cause it to overflow. In summer when the algae are in full bloom I'll be cleaning the foams everyday at this rate!. I'll persevere a little longer but imagine it will be consigned to the "spare" department in the fulness of time
=====================================
My chainsaw is still being repaired, i remember putting it in for a service about the same time one year and being told "its not a good time if you want it quick". With the grass cutting season starting the workshop is generally full of mowers in need of a service. I suppose if I don't get a phone call today it will be after Easter when it emerges.
======================
The book is moving along nicely and i have an appointment to see "my literary agent" down in Hereford on Tuesday. I'll be overnighting with an old friend so will take down the holiday snaps to bore him and his wife!
===================================
WEATHER TODAY
This was the netweather rain radar display at 06:00 The blob is making its way towards us at a sedate 33 mph and is predicted to be with us around noon
Its cool out in the breeze and the Bar. is falling in anticipation of the coming rain (Happy Easter!)
the weathercam has a very grey mantle but the current cloud cover is rather high altitude. In time the familiar rain clouds will appear just in time to douse the early Easter revellers to our Peak District
a female Blackbird joining us for breakfast just now
with hubby as well
this magpie and another soon spoil their fun
and then 2 Jackdaws see everybody off (all this happened in the space of a few minutes!)
