There's a huge blob of rain heading down the country this morning
locally we are just escaping it right now as a clear patch is directly over us. The blob further North does seem to be breaking up but its only a matter of time before we get some rain
We have a double figure Temp and a bit of a breeze this morning
the weathercam view is very grey but with the display on the rain radar its hardly surprising the "seaweed" is just about indicating the breeze is coming from the North . The forecasters are almost in agreement in their prediction for today. Breezy and light rain until around 15:00 then cloudy and breezy after that. Tomorrow is set to begin the warm few days of the "heatwave". There is however already some discussion about Temps not being as high as first predicted and the period not lasting as many days as first reported - - -

With the sophisticated freight delivery systems nowadays its interesting how you can follow "Dave" your driver as he drops off items on the internet. This saves you having to hang around and only hope to catch the delivery man or see one of those "we called but you were out" postcards on the doormat later. There follows a plethora of things that you have to do in order to successfully get something delivered that you have paid for to be delivered.
I digress however, something i ordered for the bathroom project which was meant to be out of stock until the 19th was surprisingly yesterday "On its way to you" the e mail informed me. "Press the button below to track your parcel" Alas the tracking software of https://www.dxdelivery.com/ only shows it is out on the road. I had to go over to Chesterfield around 13:00 so sods law intervenes and the stuff is delivered at 13:42. Unlike the previous stuff from Paslletways which was a "Kerbside Delivery" the bloke helped Sally get the 5 items into the house - - - well done DX
On my return and after unpacking and storing the items we settled down to watch our Olympic team who look to be grabbing medals all over the place.
Chris Froome rode to a Bronze in the time trial and announced he was pleased with the result and that
Cancellara in his final professional season deserved the win being 45 seconds in front of Silver Medalist Tom Dumoulin

I just spotted these 3 long tailed tits and a blue-tit on the feeders yesterday proof enough that the new feeders are not bothering the smaller birds. Interestingly the long tailed tits must be flocking a bit early this year. Or it could be that they have just had a good breeding season already
