the National picture doesn't look too bad
but closer inspection of the local picture sees us taking a light shower right now and more to come in the next hour or so
We had some strong overnight gusts of wind but they seem to have gone for now.  The 2mm of rain is an overnight figure as well.  The Temp is double figures but after the rain its feeling a little fresh out there just now in the light breeze .
a very grey view on the weathercam.  The "seaweed is showing the breeze but not wet enough yet to show the rain thats falling.  Forecasters are looking at a wet morning easing off to a sunny afternoon

I had arranged to walk up Mam Tor with No 1 daughter (the younger) yesterday and after a misunderstanding about the place we were meeting we set off up the very windy hill along with the thronging tourists.
There were a small group of Japanese tourists who delighted in taking lots of photos of the sheep roaming the hill?  dont they have sheep in Japan?
It was incredibly windy at the top and i noticed two swallows zooming up on the wind and then over onto the lee side of the summit.
Charlotte takes it easy after the walk to the summit of Mam Tor
The view down into Castleton and Hope was great.  Just over the hills in the distance is Ladybower Reservoir.  After walking back down we had lunch in Castleton before going our separate ways.

Sally and I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in the garden listening to WWII being re-enacted for the final time this year at the 1940's weekend at Peak Rail.
