My previous blogs on the 5p a bag issue is splashed across both the Mirror and the Mail predicting chaos at the shops from today. The articles in both papers contain lists of what you will not be charged to put in a bag - - - BUT THEY DONT MATCH!! I think i might agree with the Mail headline above. Charging for bags will reduce the number discarded inappropriately but to say it will reduce the piles of rubbish you often see alongside roads etc - - - no i cant see that happening - - -

yesterdays little job was to remove the diseased plum tree from the top of the garden. We inherited it when we bought one of our extra patches of garden a couple of years ago. It hasn't produced fruit this year and the leaves look to have the common "plum Rust" problem. We have taken off all the branches down to the pergola balustrade height and i'll chainsaw the last bit once my hand is ok.
