half term madness at Calais?? & Isn't Windows 7 wonderful

The half term break will be another opportunity for the migrants to raise their profile at Calais
I saw a story about K Noye the other day and the Sun carried this story about blocking his move to an open prison he will have to do another 28 months to 2 years where he is before any further move is considered - - -
Talk Talk get a savaging in this article about loss of customer data from their files.  It would appear that the files were not encrypted which is unbelievable in today's world - - -

Billed as "The strongest ever storm in the western hemisphere" by Sky News, Hurricane Patricia hit the Western coast of Mexico.  Winds of 165mph were recorded at one point.  this link shows a video  where the effects of the fierce winds can be viewed - - - and another from the BBC page

My battle with the Toshiba laptop and Windows 7 appears to be drawing to a successful conclusion.  After getting a basic install of the OS on the machine i completed a Drive image XML and then tried to suck back a previous version which to my surprise succeeded.  It wouldn't boot into windows though so i spent an hour or 2 trying to repair and/or rewrite the boot "bit" all to no avail.
I then sucked back in the basic OS i had sucked out in the morning and it booted ok.  My next move would be to spend the afternoon looking at the various device "id's" and tracking down all the drivers because i couldn't attach it to the internet because if the home/public network profile i had yesterday.
Just for the crack i tried connecting the pc to the LAN and the other computers started popping up on the "Network" display" !!!  After a couple of false starts the internet connected!  I quickly fired up the iobit Driver booster app and in 30 minutes or so everything looked normal.
It took the rest of the day to download and install the over 200 windows 7 updates but at last its back to normal.  This morning i backed up all the drivers took a Drive Image - - - just in case and am in the process of installing all the small apps i use - - - Isn't Windows 7 wonderful?  - - -
