Lottery woe's & we have no hills

Condemnation spread all across the Express front page as Camelot add 10 more numbers to the lotto - - - looks like the Health lottery who's tickets are only half the price of the lotto ones and are not increasing their number count might be getting a few more customers! - - -

here's an amazing survival story from the past that i remember hitting the headlines in the 1970's.  A rugby teams aircraft crashes in the Andes.  Some are killed in the initial crash but others, by a number of miracles survive the crash and then spend 2 months in the snow.  Eventually 2 of them trek out of the mountains and a helicopter rescue begins. - - -
==================================
 driving back from the shops the other day i noticed the mist in the valley was all on the western side, the view from the top of the garden it looks like "we have no hills"
 as it was clearing the hills eventually started to come into view
 on my walk i thought it funny that the sign warns of "cattle with calves in field" but the place is full of sheep.  The sign is a throw back to when the Aberdeen Angus herd was around
 as i approached one of the winter crop fields i noticed to the South a large area of dark clouds
 turning round at the same spot the view off up to the North was a completely different picture
 one of the intentions of the walk was to see how the cycle/walking path was coming along.  We have noticed a number of large lorries delivering what looks like the bedding for the track and the machines in the distance must be half way down the track towards the end of this bit of the project, it looks like its going to take a while to complete it - - -
almost home i noticed a carriage being delivered to the Peak Rail organisation.  The carriage has just been unloaded form a low loader and the diesel engine is coming along to drag it to the sidings - - -

our local supplier of water has been adding "Upgrades to the infrastructure" by digging a large hole in the road and setting up the dreaded Temporary Traffic Lights for the last week.  The Upgrade now complete they have taken down the lights and disappeared.  The Net Result for us customers? a drastic reduction in our water pressure!!! - - - ah the price of progress!
=========================================
LM gave us a bit of a scare the other night by not popping in and out of the house overnight as is normal.  So much so that at 03:30 i was dressed and checking out on the road!  All was ok though as he wandered in once i had got up at the usual time and tucked into his 5 star breakfast.  He has continued to use old Toms cushion and as can be seen by this pic from yesterday evening = = = Sad to say though that our friend Lisa who has young cat looking almost the spit of Tom reports that she thinks it has been hit by a car and seems to have disappeared. = = =
===========================================
I had the occasion to be returning home along the M5 yesterday and didnt relish the trip especially on a Friday.  As usual just like in the days when this trip would be my normal Friday activity all the loonies were out on the road.  After crawling past the remnants of a minor shunt the 3 lanes of traffic (me in the middle) sped up and then braked sharply, i had a ringside seat then of 3 cars in the fast lane shunting into each other with me hoping the didn't spill over to my lane. It didnt look at all serious so everyone just kept going.  Delays also on the M42 and M1 turned a normally less than 3 hour trip into a 4 hour one, one consolation - - - the ice cold Warsteiners taste even better when you get home! = = =
==================================
 cold again this morning at just under 4c, time to light the log burner methinks
 back to the familiar misty start on the weathercam, the forecasters are a little divided today, one says fine and dry the other cloudy and dry - - -
Mr Squirrel appears to be joining us for breakfast, i haven't noticed him for a few days but the scattering of empty sunflower seeds always lets us know he is about
====================================
the Hardwick hall mushroom foray had to be cancelled the other day but we might try and schedule it in today's busy itinerary
==================
Enjoy the day
