Stop press! England invaded Australia! & back to the logging

Like most newspapers the Express covers the death of Ronnie Corbett, a great entertainer, one of the banners suggests Boris Johnson is favourite to be the next PM - - - the story has been around for a while
This young lady is Sara Albone who nearly lost her life on Ben Nevis last weekend by going to the top completely unprepared for the rather obvious winter conditions.  Other climbers put themselves at considerable risk to save her and get her off the mountain where the conditions were that bad rescue helicopters could not fly.  She reckons she did it on the "spur of the moment" - - -

An Australian politician has now jumped on the band wagon of England invaded not settled Australia a quote pumped out by The university of NSW last week. - - - its a bit late for all this boys isnt it? - - - while recently in Australia i read that the "issues forced on the Aborigines", oh sorry that's not PC now, "issues forced on the "indigenous people" by the English all those years ago are still outstanding, so why don't they resolve those issues before throwing rocks at their own history?
=====================================
Having been plagued with the odd pain in my knees since i came back from my Scafell Pike walk i decided yesterday that i would bite the bullet and go for a walk
it was a frosty morning and the Temp had risen little from the -2c of dawn the frost is still on the meadow in the foreground
up the hill and looking South the view quite good
as i took the last shot i noticed a movement and looked down to a water trough where a Thrush was drinking and bathing.  Its a bit difficult to see but its in the smaller part of the trough click to enlarge
as i passed the pond i snapped Peak Tor and the clouds forming
by the time o reached the golf course the view was quite spectacular with the frost on the turf and a couple of  Lenticular clouds showing just right of centre
 crossing the Derwent
 Then the Wye
i went straight up the hill and in this photo you can see Haddon Hall bathed in sunshine
on my way down i noticed a bird wheeling about the sky and studying it i realised it was a House Martin, its pretty early to spot any of the Swift, Martin & Swallow trio just yet but try as i might i couldn't get a photo of it as it swooped around Caudwell's Mill
on down the river the clouds are not high enough to make a show but the colours in the photo look great
The Ransoms are really taking over now
i noticed a strip of plastic hanging from a branch that i had not seen before.  The length of it and the small pile of twigs at its top give some idea how high the water was after Storm Katie recently
the outfall stones are visible again so the river status quo is back
A last look across the river before going home and wrestling with a freeview box and TV given to me by a friend - - - I admitted defeat after trying indoors and up the top of the garden.  The transmitter is visible some 2km away but i couldn't get a peep out of either!
My chainsaw has been repaired and is ready to go and so i think its time to do a bit of logging this morning
Unfortunately Cyril the van has developed a strange noise in the steering department so it will be his turn to have a trip over the road next Wednesday to have it investigated!

WEATHER TODAY
this Netweather rain radar display looks threatening for us but there's no mention of rain until nighttime ?
Outside just now its still below zero with the Bar. tendency being the deciding factor for today methinks
the weathercam has a very grey picture but i think the cloud cover is very thin, here's hoping the sun might make a difference soon
