Leaves on the line again & No thanks to the trick or treaters

Its the turn of the Sunday Express to trot out the recent story about how fillings rot your teeth, ok ok we get the point
=================================
"The old ones are the best ones"  or so go's the saying about Leaves on the line causing delays.  Apparently 165 people are employed on full time "Delay attribution",  i think that means "Blame".  Down near the bottom of the story is a quote from a Network Rail spokesman which says "We are much better at dealing with leaf fall issue than 50 years ago" - - - judging by the readers comments ta the bottom of the story, i dont think so - - -

The Hacking of Talk Talk  customer data which was trumpeted as a cyber criminal gang not long ago is now attributed to 2 teenagers and a 20 year old in this story  Talk Talk say about the "raid", although very serious it only managed to gain access to "obscured credit card numbers" and customers dates of birth .  The point here surely is how did they manage to even breach the security of the system?

Internet companies should retain user data  according to this story, mind boggling the amount of space this would take up and i imagine it would spark a whole new industry on "user data encryption", although apparently Whatsapp and iMessage service providers already use such a thing! - - -

So that's it then with my "Alternative Activity" for another week or so, it finished off with an enjoyable if not busy day for all concerned.
The "No thanks" poster to the "trick or treaters" had its desired effect and we were not visited by the little darlings.  In past years we have geared up and been "blessed" and others, - - "nary a soul", so spotting the poster promoted by "Derbyshire Constabulary" last year and trying it out with success we deployed it once again last night.
In recent months we have been plagued by our ISP router dropping the wireless connection to any of our devices.  A lengthy and no doubt expensive call to them elicited the fact that changing the router channel often resolved the issue.  Thankfully it did for a while but its happening again and i'm wondering if its the router on its way out.

an early morning breakfast visitor on the birdfeeders

 a touch on the chilly side this morning
the weathercam highlights "the mists of autumn fruitfulness" in all its glory.  The forecasters would have us believe that we shall have some sunshine once the mist and cloud have been burnt off around lunchtime.

update 11:35 great view on the weathercam now
