A blustery wet Derbyshire photo and another cyclone for Yemen

This is a local pic of a vehicle splashing through a puddle and the spray being whipped up by the wind yesterday.  The weather was quite severe locally and we enjoyed some high winds and heavy rain for a while.
This Met O article by the Mail  go's on to explain that although we will have quite a bit of rain and high winds the Temp's will remain high for November and the mild spell shows no sign of being swept aside by the "more normal for this time of year" cold Northern winds

I thought the only "silent firework display"  was done by Terry Wogan on his breakfast show.  Having been advertised as a silent display some of the quotes by "disgruntled parents" are amusing.  Most other bonfire displays seem to have been a washout with the wet and windy weather - - - shame - - -

Over in the US, where some areas of the Pacific Northwest are set to receive a foot of fresh snow its a different story. The snow is welcome apparently in California and the rest of the west because they have had serious drought concerns lately
Just a hint of El Nino in the article but in the UK all El Nino heads are down with the continuing warm spell we are having - - - bring on the snow soon !

Another Cyclone, this time christened Megh is raging towards the Yemeni coast having hit the island of Socotra yesterday although extreme weather is sometimes experienced in this part of the world 2 cyclones so close together is unusal.

My book has been taking a back seat and i must get back into the swing and process a few more photographs for its now dusty pages.  Full publication is still looking far on the horizon as the number of pages rises with every couple of photographs i insert. I'm swaying towards inflicting the most interesting period first on the general public and then the whole thing as a bit of an afterthought.
I like the idea of putting the photos in next to the relevant text which is what i am doing but it makes chopping the book into sections to publish more challenging.

I'm off to Derby today for probably my last consultation with my hand surgeon, progress back to normal is slow but sure and i'm hoping it remains that way - - -

mild once again with a breeze already strengthening
The weathercam has a pleasant view with some breaks in the cloud cover.  The Met O are looking at strengthening winds with a max of 60 mph on the local peaks.  Metcheck is hedging its bets by predicting light rain after 09:00 for the rest of the day with max winds of 52 mph.  Having just welcomed Sally back from her early morning walk i notice it is already raining
