Lake district day 1

A very foggy start back in Matlock but after dropping LM off at the kool4cats hotel we shot up the M6 to start our Lake District break 

The weather is unseasonably warm but hey no-ones complaining.  We had a light lunch in Ambleside before 

 looking at the waterfall in Stock Ghyll Forth 

 Staying at the Wateredge Inn where the lager is an eye watering £4.30 a pint!! we survey the view from our room 

 looking back down the jetty our room is on the gable end of the hotel 

 Autumn colours are still around and enjoying the sunshine 

 one of the Windermere pleasure boats takes another load of tourists around the lake  

 A quick drink in the late afternoon sunshine 

and the seagulls have a quick preen before the sun go's down

I'm walking Helvellyn from Glennridding over the top then down to the Thirlmere Reservoir side tomorrow while Sally will be dropping me off, engaging in a little retail therapy then picking me up
