Brief respite as we await the arrival of Storm Barney

With Storm Abigail leaving a trail of damage and high river levels its now the turn of Storm Barney .  The storm is expected to make its presence felt today and hit further South than Abigail did.
Coastal areas of Wales and the Bristol Channel can expect winds of up to 70mph according to the Met O prediction for today.
==========================================
The http://www.xcweather.co.uk/ current image has yet to show the emergence of Storm Barney in the English channel but the later projection has more detail.  The information on the large blue arrow just below Ireland is an Atlantic Buoy and the wind is already strengthening in that area.  The North of England and Scotland are still experiencing the effects of Storm Abigail.

TWC meanwhile has a similar report and looks on to Friday when the current Temps are set to plummet as we see the Northern winds coming into play
================================
its a mild start for us this morning and pretty calm on the wind speed at the moment, no doubt things will liven up as the day progresses

update 09:00
a rather disappointing river level although Sally said it was higher yesterday, maybe Storm Barney will "top it up a little"
====================================
Having finished my "Alternative Activities" for another few days I'll get out and get some pics of the Derwent River Level which Sally had observed as quite high on her early morning walk yesterday.  I'll add a couple later.
I'm off on a visit to No 1 Daughters,100 miles South today so with the expected weather developments its looking like the return trip might be especially interesting.

Enjoy the day
