Indian Summer this week & LM catches a Long Eared Bat

Ther Express trumpets yet another breakthrough in the fight against Dementia - - - the glad news of an Indian summer looks to have a little more believability about it though - - -
=====================================
The Metro newspaper also covers the Indian Summer meant to be coming along but in more "earthy" terms - - -
============================================
i was just testing a new camera we have for looking into the garden yesterday and spotted LM's arch enemy strolling through, its a nice looking cat but they just dont get on!
 deciding to do a variation of round the fields and by the river i walked first up the hill behind our cottage, its a steep old slog
 but the views are rewarding
 the quarry near the top of the hill in the pic is opposite our cottage but out of view due to the shape of the ground, my normal route to The Nine Ladies stone circle is up through the group of buildings
 once on top of the hill its a gentle descent along this minor road, nice walls!
 another nice view with Enthovens factory site hidden buy the tallest tree
 back at the bottom of the valley and on more familiar territory near Abbey House in Churchtown
 there's just a little more water in the river after the recent welcome rain

 the 2 planted fields crops look to have profited from the rain as well
 this tiny rowing boat is almost half full of water
and so to the end of the walk with a view across the river
==============================
 sitting in the garden later the Budleia bush had lots of butterflies and bees around it, this Red Admiral is a rare visitor to the garden
more familiar is this and a number of other Tortoiseshell butterflies
===================================
LM must have had a busy night, even catching this Common Long Eared Bat!
==============================
Local Weather now
 cold again this morning
the clearing mist is hiding the rim of the valley, forecasters are predicting a pleasant sunny day
===============================
