Diabetes breakthrough & old footpaths re-visited

Another cure for Diabetes on the front of the Express with HM getting a bit of the limelight and even the PM squeezes in with a migrant issue - - -
the Sky coverage of the PM's quote "Britain will act with our head and our heart" regarding the Refugee/Migrant  crisis is filled with innuendo but not much fact. The Labour leader features in the text and has written to councils in the UK and reports that 40 have replied "offering support".  Interestingly in this Express story there's one of those reader pro-active slots where you can answer the question "Should we take in more refugees?" - - - click on the link to see what the people think! - - -
=======================================
I had noticed the other day as i stood by the re-opened Chatsworth quarry which now seems not be working that a new sign had been erected with various directions on it.
 so on a rather cloudy start to the day i wandered up the hill yesterday to investigate
 traversing the golf course the clouds continue to roll by
 after following one of the tracks indicting Rowsley on the sign i had seen it became apparent quite quickly that the track was one we used to use to walk locally soon after we arrived in the area
 snapping this pic i noticed what looked like air balloons in Chatsworth
 zooming in on the scene i remembered that it was the first day of the Chatsworth Country Fair
 these puffballs looked quite new and a number of other mushrooms and fungi were evident, yet another indication of Autumn arriving
 by the time i had explored a coupler of old tracks the weather looked to be clearing a bit
 and the view South down the valley towards home had a sunny aspect
the walk back down the river however gave the clouds time to re-appear
=============================================
we popped into Bakewell the other day and Sally noticed this odd looking duck on the river. The RSPB information on the "Garganey" implies its is a Summer only visitor so it might not be around much longer.  I noticed a couple of days ago that the local Swift colonies seem to have departed for warmer climes already
===============================
Current weather
 cool once again with the Temp scraping a 9.9 at the present time with a max of 14c predicted for the day
the new weathercam shows a leaden grey sky with not much chance of it getting any better today although tomorrow is meant to be wall to wall sunshine!
another sign that Autumn is arriving is the smoke from our chimney caught on the down garden view cam! - - -
