Solent ship grounded on purpose & frosty walk pics

The details of the Ship grounded in the Solent have been released and it appears to have been deliberately steered onto the Bramble Bank.  Reports of a list have been confirmed and the Captain and Pilot praised for their action to prevent the ship capsizing - - -
No such luck for the Cemfjord which was spotted upside down by a ferry on Saturday.  Reports indicate the ship sank completely Sunday with no sign of the 8 crew in the massive search operation. - - -

There are some fantastic pics in this story from China of ice sculptures in the 31st International Ice and Snow Festival - - - worth a look - - -

The Express has a headline of some bad weather heading our way.
The text behind the headline  does indicate that the weather will go downhill all week with Friday being a particularly windy day - - - The Met O is indicating we could have "unsettled" weather right on into February! - - -

Looking at my webpage Finland weather Link the Temp is minus 25c! and although we are forecast the possibility of minus temps later in the week it hopefully wont get that low!

Little Man inspects the top of Boris when the snow was on the carport roof.  He is continuing his quest to rid the neighbourhood of mice having brought in and devoured at least 3 maybe 4 last night judging by the "leftovers!" Houdini still visits regularly but he's not managed to get through the Chip locked cat flap again!

Yesterday was particularly frosty as can be seen by the pic below of the handrail on our garden pond bridge as i went out to feed the birds
Later I walked across the fields by the River Derwent down to the pub having driven Sally down earlier to see her friend Lisa.
With the sun so low in the sky it made for some good shots (click to enlarge and see the detail)
Nice sky colours
This is meant to be a track but the ice topped water shows just how much rain we have had lately!
The frost is still present where the sun is not reaching
Very frosty in the Church graveyard
No-one in the nets today! and the frost is still on the far (southern) side of the cricket ground
Not too cold in the stats this morning
Still quite dark outside showing the cloud is heavy but at least you can just make out the tops of the hills on the other side of the valley

Enjoy the day
