Happy New Year!
As usual the media is covered in the New Year Fireworks pics so here are 2 of our favourite cities offerings
Sydney has a great backdrop what with the Opera house and bridge, We stopped off on our way to Fiji just for 24 hours in 2011 and loved the place. We are hoping to re-visit in 2016 - - -
Hong Kong has a similar waterfront pic its a place to see in the daytime though with its fantastic "Peak" skyline views
Here's 1 Aussie reveller trying to outdo the Sydney fireworks when he tries to rob a cash machine - - - methinks its a case of PIN Incorrect! great short CCTV video - - -
Technology buffs will like this one the Mars rover "Opportunity" has been wandering the planet for 10 years now
Its ageing software though is causing problems because it keeps resetting itself.
NASA has come up with the idea to "hack" into the software to resolve the issue. - - -
The Express New Year front page is a bit of the "Same old - - Same old" really with yet another miracle cure!
My last 2014 shift at the Fun Factory (Sainsbugs Matlock) was a touch hectic yesterday. With the very cold weather easing, people were out in force gathering provisions. They either had not studied the warming weather reports or thought that the shop would be shut on New Years Day which it isn't. At one point i spotted 5 manager types replenishing the toilet and kitchen roll isle and chuckled as i imagined them to be "in their rightful place" lol - - -
My next set of shifts begin on the 8th Jan with my new shift times of 08:00 to 17:00 deep joy! - - -
Mild Temp. stat this morning but i feel the freshening breeze might make it feel a little colder than it is
Just enough light outside to pick up that the snow is still on the higher (700ft) ground but most of it has been rained away at this level overnight.
Goals for 2015? Not really anything specific, but a few interesting projects in the wind will no doubt fuel, hours of entertainment for us - - - have a good one!
Enjoy the day
