counting spiders & another time lapse video

I had to laugh at this one, it appears that Spiders can count
Scientists observed spiders when they removed meal worm larvae previously put in the spiders webs.  The searching tactic the spider used lead the boffins to conclude the spiders could count.

we lunched at our favourite spot The grouse at Froggatt the other day and later that day the snow hit us
the sky was filling as we emerged and it came down soon after
On Wednesday the snow was thankfully very wet so the garden didn't have too much of it around
the pic looks more like a Black & White study on my Wednesday walk.  I decided to add a little on to a short walk
So here's a portion of the River Derwent i have not seen before
We have seen this house many times and although it is on a small road it would be a wonderful place to live with a fantastic view across the valley
the dark object in the middle of the field are a small pile of stones over what look like a spring (water)
this pile of stones is actually the end of an underground stone channel which brings the water down into the river, never seen it before

I added a link the other day to a time lapse video i made not long ago and received an E mail from a reader saying how much he enjoyed it.  That one was called A year down the track so here's another i made at the same time called A year across the River in 2 minutes
Its not long until we go on our hols to the Maldives so here's another video i made years ago in appreciation of the friends we made on the island of Hakuraa (no called Chaya Lagoon) some of whom we are still in touch with.  As the narrative on the link says i have watched this video 100's of times and never ever tire of it Tribute To Hakauraa Island Resort in the Maldives    (all 3 are now links on our website  )   Grab a coffee sit down for 5 minutes and enjoy all 3!!

cool stats again tonight but no snow forecast for us

Enjoy the day
