Antarctic tourism yes or no? & windy conditions continue

There are some great pics in this story giving the impact of Antarctic tourism The environmental impact is controlled so that only footprints are left behind and theres a "polar code" to abide by but not all visitors come from countries who have signed up to it.
27,000 visitors this "season" are expected to tramp their way around the place lets hope the winter blows all their presence away - - -

About this time of year our "experts" advise that we should expect to have 20 to 30 species of plant in flower, due to the mild weather conditions a count of 368 was clocked up on a New Years Day  hunt by botanists.  The climate change drum is given a banging with the fact that this winter is the 4th mild one and 2014 the warmest year on record - - -

The picturesque village of Llan Ffestiniog hits the Welsh news with a visiting English Macmillan Cancer fundraiser being told to Go back to England by one of the locals who has a B in his metaphoric bonnet about the English- - - Hes aggrieved that a lot of houses in the area are owned by "English pigs" and vented his spleen in public only to end up in court on a "racially aggravated assault charge" - - - -

Our weather was very blustery yesterday but it didn't stop us getting a bit of work done on our project
We took down the door leading up the path and relocated a portion of fencing to have a continuation of the path fence all the way down the (left hand) steps leading up into the garden.

The stats don't reflect the wind very well just now but we are getting a few 20 mph plus gusts
the weathercam shows a fully clouded sky and a soggy cat having just come in indicates that a little rain is falling - - -
Enjoy the day
