Another more worrying story is this one of the cement carrier Cemfjord which is described as upside down in the water. The ships watertight system appears to be working because the bow is sticking up out of the water but there has been no sign of the 8 (!) crew. The vessel was spotted by a passing ferry on Saturday at 14:30 and a major rescue operation has been launched in the area - - - so few crew on both these ships though? - - -
As usual last night there was "nothing on the Telly" so we opted to watch Britains Wildest weather 2014 . OK all the "bad bits" together always look a bit "eye popping" . The programme was spattered with facts from the inevitable "experts" to suggest what was an exceptional set of weather phenomena last year might become the norm - - - batten down the hatches! - - -
I wandered inot the garden to top up the bird feeders yesterday to be faced with this
The thing draped over the blue lidded bin in which we keep the birdfood is a piece of felt from the roof of the shedThis is the view from the shed a distance of around 20 metres away. The windy conditions the day/night before must have been a bit extreme - - -
feeling very cold out in the -3.9c temperature this morning
The sun is up but not high enough to make much of a difference to the frosty start right now
Enjoy the day
