Cyclone Pam hits Pacific Islands & Sally spots mushrooms a plenty

The Express was trumpeting that the cold weather would start today with a vengeance seems to have modified its stance and are now saying it will get much colder "this weekend" which might indicate its not going to be as cold as the "headlines" might have us believe - - -

Cyclone "Pam" has battered the Pacific Vanuatu Islands  with 8 reported deaths so far.  Winds of up to 167mph were recorded and Port Vila Vanuatu's capital city is without power or water.  Reports have yet to come in from outlying vulnerable communities about damage and injuries - - -

This pic of a weir on the Chatsworth estate is from a series of Best UK Landscapes - Peak District photos by James Grant - - - very nice - - -

On Sally's morning stroll she spotted these Scarlet Elf Cap  mushrooms we both wandered the same route later and noticed there were many more in the leaf litter.  Its an edible variety - -- i might try some - - -
These puff balls on a moss covered tree stump looked past their best but are still able to puff out spores from their open tops
Cold stats again and even though the wind is light and from the North the clouds are coming from the East and if predictions are correct it might get colder for a while in the next few days
A grey weathercam pic with just the odd small break in the cloud at the moment its looking like it might just be a cold cloudy day but with little chance of any serious rain
Enjoy the day
